Modern Vampire Fiction

Oh, how I loath you.

You are an embarrassment.

I love vampires and vampire stories. But I dare not say anything like that because then people will think I'm all into that Twilight crap and others of that ilk.

Like say...a series I just learned about last night while doing title checks at work.

The Vampire Shrink and Dark Harvest, which are the books so far in the series: Kismet Knight: Vampire Psychologist.

KISMET KNIGHT!?

WTF kind of name is that?

Vampire psychologist my ass.

Of course it's all about how she falls in love with a centuries-old leader of a vampire coven, and OMG how will their relationship work out coming from such different worlds???

I want to jab my eyes, seriously.

Fucking modern vampires. This is all your fault, Barnabas Collins.

KISMET KNIGHT?!

ARGH. I'm sorry, I think the vampire novel I was writing in the 8th grade had more potential than this. And my story had a medieval female vampire hunter who unwittingly falls in love with a vampire, only to run from him when she discovers the truth, only to find out that she's pregnant with his child, but only after she's met up with a werewolf who happens to fall in love with her.

....

I was like 12. Throw me a fuckin' bone.
