omg I R writing longer fic than usual!
Remember how I have expressed my disappointment with most existing Harry/Bob fic I have found?
Well, that has only inspired me to take matters in to my own hands. Now, for the past couple years the length of any fics that are more than 1000 words have lingered in the 2500 range. The longest fic I have written since joining LJ is in my first LoM fic, "Fool Proof," clocking in at 5212.
I haven't written multi-parted fics since my early days of fic writing back at FFN and with my Harry Potter Mary-Sue fics of doom. Oh God, how I look back on them with shame. And I mean, it's sad then isn't it that when I did bother with quantity it was at my most amateur.
But this Dresden Files fic is already 3434, and barely started.
I'm enjoying writing it, too. I think especially because there already has been two or three moments that could have been the moment feelings are declared/realized. And I already know how I want it played out anyway. No grand declarations, it's going to be more casual, almost accidental. No agonizing over possible unrequited love. Yeah we've had evidences of Bob being a bit of a romantic, but some ppl in fandom seem to have forgotten Bob is also a bit of a pervert. He talks fairly frankly about sex, "All right, so you bag the wench, find the loot, come back here and tell me all about it. No! Better yet, you bag the wench here and let me watch" (S1E04 - "Rules of Engagement"). Why do I never see that Bob in fic? Have I overlooked those?
Kinda sucks though I'm not getting this inspired for say Doctor Who or Life on Mars.
