Oh, Livejournal, how I have neglected you. You are like an interesting fish that I bought, put in a glass bowl on my desk and forgot to feed for a few weeks....
Note that this is a purely hypothetical fish. I had real fish, some time ago, but they ate each other. Savages.
Today is the first day of October, and the beginning of my favorite month of the year. Crisp fall air, falling leaves, an excuse to drink hot cider and buttered rum, nights that aren't too cold to talk walks in, and, of course, my birthday.
It is my 21st birthday in six days (on the 7th, to be precise). Let's weigh the pros and cons of this.
Pros: -I can drink in every state. Which would be great, except I live in provinces. Been there, done that.
-My age is divisible by seven.
Cons: -It feels like the first step over the hurdle of responsibility. When you're 19 or 20, you can get away with things,
but 21 feels like the death knell of fun.
-My age is an uneven number. This displeases me. I like symmetry.
I figure I'll spend a day in maudlin retrospection, realize that I have actually accomplished a fair bit, and celebrate a little bits with friends 'n family. Maybe some presents. Everyone likes presents :)
Oh, I'm heavily into the job hunt now that my current semester is nice and established. If anyone out there can help me out, it would be much appreciated.
