(no subject)
I've just been reading through some old entries of mine, and realized that I never mentioned The Big Day in my journal. D'oh!
In any case, here's the formal announcement:
As of 11:30 AM PDT, on July 26, 2005,

were married before a Justice of the Peace
and her parents did not attend

Yeah, we did it when they were out of town on some vacation thing. I told Mom like two days before they left, and she chose not to tell Dad until they got back and we were already hitched. Dad was mad 'cause we didn't invite them. I told them that there were five people at the JOP's house (besides us) and that they were coworkers of Data's; there was no RECEPTION per se. We did take the "wedding party" out to lunch at Red Lobster. (mmm, Red Lobster... *drool*)
So, about a month after The Event, we went over to Mom's for the usual Saturday pizza and movie and discovered that they'd made it a bit of a party for us, a one-month you-made-it sort of thing. A cute picture frame with our names and the date on it... (But we have no pictures, because that dear husband of mine NEVER MADE THE APPOINTMENT! ahem) a little party game about married people, and a couple of souvenirs from Reno. Cool. Cheesecake for dessert.
Sorry, no miniature horses or clowns with blinky noses. Also no getting hitched on the bridge of the Enterprise. le sigh.
