Attacked by zombies today

I came to a slow realization while conversing with some others on the Project that we would all die today.

Today, San Francisco State was attacked by zombies.

There were but a few at first, centered in the quad. There was a man in a lab coat and geeky bow-tie announcing that the world had ended. No one paid him much mind until he joined their ranks in a bloody mess.

We ran into the nearest building, only to be greeted by the calamitous fate of a comrade. He was trying his best to push back the horde in order to protect his girlfriend, but his chivalry ended up causing his doom. The horde descended upon him like a scythe on fresh wheat. His girlfriend, the one who he had sacrificed himself for, decided she could not live without him. She jumped into the circle of death.

One of my friends was in his scrubs. He came running to us and said that the CDC created a safe zone near student housing and that all available survivors were to help in creating the cure to the plague. He tried to hold-off the horde as well so that we could help spread the word, despite our protests of what happened to some other poor soul who tried to play hero.

He was a fool.

I miss him.

Luckily, being close to nine military installations, the zombies were put down like dogs before the casualty rate reached the four figure mark. There are rumors of another horde in the works. One for Halloween day. We'll be ready next time.
