Smallville- Fortune

Feb 25, 2011 23:10

Okay, so I've recently started watching Smallville again. That's kind of shameful to admit considering how much I hated it at the end of the 8th season --DAVIS! WHYYYYYYYY?! *insert sobs here*

But, here's the thing. Chloe is probably one of my all time favorite tv characters and no matter how many times I've cried character assassination at the end of an episode, I still love her. Also, I love her with Ollie. Like RIDICULOUSLY so. I was watching Fortune with one hand over my eyes because it's Allison Mack's last episode so I was biting my nails with worry, thinking the episode was gonna end with her dead in some freezer somewhere. Imagine my surprise. Chloe goes off to Star City to recruit more super heroes. GET THIS: She's already met Batman and Wonder Woman. HEAR THAT HIGH PITCHED NOISE. Oh sorry, just me shrieking like a 13 year old. You have no idea how much the thought of her even just being the one who's gonna round up the whole Justice League fills me with glee.

Of course, I then thought that she and Oliver were gonna split up, but I was okay with it, because, hey, Chloe's gonna be a badass recruiter for the fucking Justice League. BUT WAIT. So for the next part to make some sense I'll briefly recap what happened in this episode. Basically, Zatanna sent the gang a bottle of magically spiked champagne. Everyone drank it. Shenanigans ensued. Clark and Chloe wake up. He has a wedding band on. Chloe finds half of a marriage certificate with her name on it and, of course, they assume they've gotten married to each other.

So at the end of the episode Chloe leaves while the others are watching a video of their drunken shenanigans and Oliver goes after her. This scene follows.

IT'S JUST RAINING ON MY FACE. REALLY.

I'm just so happy that they didn't kill her off, but come on. She got got a happy ending so great that unless Smallville actually mentions in the last five minutes of the finale that, I don't know, she tragically died in a plane crash or something-and REALLY, I wouldn't put it pass them so I'm not popping champagne bottles yet--I'll forgive them for all the crap they've put her through. I really will. I'm easy like that.

I don't know if I'll keep watching now. Maybe. I like Oliver this season and could probably watch for him.

glee, american tv, geeking out, smallville
