Back in the dorms, most people were asleep, unlike the two stalking outside. Liz was one of the people who was fast asleep, enjoying pleasant, sweet dreams as she was safe in Kate's presence.
But then suddenly something cut straight through her pleasant dreams. A sudden pain, a sudden fear. Liz bolted up in her bed with a scream, and sat there for a minute, feeling completely confused and disorientated.

Katelyn, too, was fast asleep. A sudden scream changed that, but unlike her partner and roommate, she wasn't jarred awake quite so suddenly.
The wild girl immediately kicked out, flailing her arms and legs to escape the entangling snare of the covers she had pulled around her body. Though normally quite nimble in her haste she clumsily went over the edge of her bunk bed and fell to the floor.
"Liz!" The voice came from a Katelyn-shaped lump beneath a white sheet. She pulled that cover from over her head to reveal a worried, concerned look. "Are you, okay? What's wrong?"

Liz couldn't answer immediately to Kate's concerned calls and questions. She was still trying to gather her own senses and understand what she had just experienced.
"I'm... I'm fine..." the Seer finally said, though still a bit disorientated and not fully aware of what she said. "There's... I felt pain. And fear." Brown eyes found Katelyn and Liz looked at her with a worried expression. "Katelyn... I think someone is in a lot of trouble."

Now freed from her linen bonds, the Slayer immediately crawled up into Liz's bed and wrapped her arms around her. She might not be in as much trouble as whatever it was she sensed but she was Kate's first responsibility, and after she took care of her Liz Kate would do what she could to take care of the rest as well.
"It'll be, okay," the stronger girl said reassuringly. She sat there for a moment, just holding her, silently letting her know that she would always be there for her. "Do you, See anything else?" Her voice was calm but concerned. "Can you tell what's going on?"
Re: In the dormsliz_rileyAugust 27 2008, 21:00:05 UTC
Liz curled up in Kate's arms. "I... I don't know. I don't See anything else. I don't know what's going on. I just know that someone's in trouble. In a lot of pain... And frightened and... almost... It almost felt like she was dying. It's someone from here, I know that. I just... I don't even know who."
Liz sighed a bit. "It was so strong and real... I never felt anything like that before. What should I do? What if someone is really in trouble?"
Re: In the dormswildkateAugust 27 2008, 21:55:51 UTC
Kate ran her fingers through the Seer's long, chocolate-brown hair. "Well," she said with a small grin, deliberately trying to cheer her up. "As much as I like, cuddling with you in bed...what we should do is look for them. If someone really is in trouble."
Re: In the dormsliz_rileyAugust 27 2008, 22:26:17 UTC
The Seer nodded a bit at Kate's confident answer. It sounded like a good idea. "But..." she then brought up hesitantly. "Where do we start? I... I mean... I know I am alright and you are alright... but there are so many rooms and so many places where they can be..."
Re: In the dormswildkateAugust 27 2008, 23:05:13 UTC
"Hm." Kate paused to think for a moment. Of course Liz was right, but there had to be something that could be done.
"Well," the girl mused aloud, "If someone is afraid...and if they really might be...about to die? They probably wouldn't be in their rooms." She nodded, seeming satisfied with that conclusion. "Not unless someone, like, broke in or something? But then someone else would have heard too."
Blue eyes looked into brown ones, looking for approval. "And...if you could feel them? They're probably somewhere near by?" She shrugged slightly at that; she didn't know how all these visions and things worked, but either the frightened person would be close or they'd likely be too far away for the two girls to be of any help.

"But I can't feel them anymore," Liz said softly. "I don't know where they are. They can be nearby, or they can be far away. All I know for sure is that they almost have to be on the school grounds."
She began to detach herself from Kate. As much as she loved to be held by her girlfriend, they wouldn't get far if they stayed like that. "Maybe they are-" Her sentence was cut off by a sudden sharp pain in her throat. Liz made a gagging sound and reached for her throat, even though there was nothing there. Then for a brief moment, she saw an odd green liquid in a syringe and an environment she immediately recognized from all her potions lessons.

Kate did not protest; she herself was about to get up as well. As she scooted off the edge of Liz's bed she thought out loud. "I could always fly around and look?" There wasn't much more Kate felt that she could do. If the Seer did not know then there wasn't any other options than to go hunting for the cause of what she originally felt.
A gagging sound caused the strong, protective girl to immediately spin around, away from the window and back towards the girl she forever would be most concerned about. "Liz!" The Slayer rushed to her side, taking charge of the situation as best she was able. She pulled Liz's hand from her throat to see what was the matter, finding nothing visibly wrong. Fearing the worst she began a quick Druidic chant calling upon the spirits of the air, asking for their healing touch to help Liz to breathe and prevent her from choking.
Re: In the dormsliz_rileyAugust 28 2008, 23:49:31 UTC
Liz hardly knew what was happening to her, other than that this must be another connection between the person in danger. She could hear Kate's voice saying words in a language she did not speak, though she knew what Kate was trying to do and how useless it would be. It would do nothing to help her breathe.
The pain faded and the choking feeling stopped as well, though coincidentally at the same time as Kate released her spell.
"I'm... I'm alright..." Liz managed to say once she had caught her breath. "It was the same as before." She took a few deep breaths, then worked herself to her feet. "Potions lab. They're in the potions lab. I saw it. And... Katelyn... I think someone got in here... a bad person... And, and they want to hurt us!"
Re: In the dormswildkateAugust 29 2008, 00:39:35 UTC
Her fingers lightly toughed Liz along her neck. She was not the most accomplished healer in the world, but this fell within what she could do with her connection with Nature. The spirits answered her call, and she could sense the wind now able to travel down into her partner's chest. Kate breathed a sigh of relief once Liz had stopped choking, though unaware that it was more that the Seer's connection with her target had been broken than anything she had done to help her. In Katelyn's eyes it really didn't matter...just hearing Liz assure her that she was all right now was all that truly mattered to her

"I come with you!" Liz stood quickly up to grab Kate's hand. It trembled a bit. "I... I want to come with you. If... If anyone's hurt... I... I know I can't fight... but if anyone's hurt, I want to help them."

Kate was normally a rather carefree girl, perfectly content to lie in the grass barefoot for hours while watching the butterflies flutter by. But the young Druid had a deep-seated respect for life, and knowing that someone's inner light was about to be extinguished caused her to grow rather serious. Her already protective nature only became that much stronger when Liz volunteered to follow her into a dangerous situation with dangerous people
