I Will Not Forget Chapter 1

I Will Not Forget

I’m sitting in my office when I get a call. “Hello?” I ask.

“Oh thank God! Bella! You need to come home!” my dad’s neighbor cries.

“Beth, what is going on?” I ask.

“Your dad just died in a car wreck!” I drop the phone and stare at it. Daddy? Not you too…

“Bella? Bella? Sweetheart, are you still there?”

“Yeah, sorry,” I say picking up the receiver.

“When can you get here?” she asks.

“I’m leaving right now.” I hang up the phone before she has the chance to say any more. I grab my keys and my purse and lock my office letting my secretary, Jessica, know that I’ll be out of town for a week.

**IWNF**

The last few days have been hell on my nerves. I’ve put together my dad’s funeral within the last three days and within hours we’ll be burying him. I wish my mom could be here, but the gods must want me to be alone with no one to care about me. My mom died during childbirth and she only got to see me once. Now some dumb drunken bastard hit my dad’s police cruiser on his way home; he died instantly. They found the S.O.B. and now he’s got life in prison…bastard!

Sue Clearwater and her kids helped set up everything, but I didn’t pay much attention to them. I still can’t believe what is happening to me.

I stay in my childhood room with the door locked until someone knocks. I get up off of my bed and ask who it is. “Bella, it’s me…” He doesn’t finish due to the fact that I’ve already opened the door.

“Jacob? Why-why are you here?” I ask starting to cry again.
“How could I stay away? He was like a father to me, and I knew you’d need me.” He pulls me close and I start crying on his shoulder. He rubs my back and carries me to the bed so that we can be comfortable.

Jacob and I would always play and hang out together. He was like the brother I never had. The fact that he didn’t have any parents was a big part of it. His mom and dad had both died in a car accident, but somehow he had survived. Dad had taken him in when he heard what happened to Billy and Sarah. We grew up together and when he graduated from high school, I was still in my sophomore year. He left us and went off to college. He got lost in his schooling to the point that he’d hardly call. I just can’t believe he came home.
We lie there for a while until he asks me what I’ve been up to. I tell him about college and about my new publishing company and how much I love my job as a book editor. He listens completely and asks questions here and there. The time passes so quickly that the next thing I know, it’s time to go. “Oh God…I don’t want to do this…” I say into his chest.

“Sweetheart, we have to. If we don’t go, then we’d just have to do it later. If we do it now, we won’t have to do it later.” He moves the hair out of my face. I nod and sit up.

“Let’s go. He deserves better than this.” I get off of the bed and grab my keys off of my nightstand. We hold hands walking down the stairs and out the door. I see his motorcycle in the driveway and I look at him with eyebrows raised.

He shrugs and says, “I had to get here fast. It was the best way.”

I nod and we get into my Roll Royce Ghost. We are silent the whole drive to the church. I get out of the car, and Jacob walks around the car and grabs my hand. We walk in together and go to our seats in the front. Everyone is watching us and I can’t help but cry. Every person that has ever worked with Dad and all of his friends are here.  We sit through the sermon for my dad and then the Quileute boys: Jared, Paul, Sam, Quil, Embry, and Jacob walk up and carry him to the grave site. I follow them out and the whole way to the grave site, all of Dad’s co-workers and other police officers and firemen from neighboring cities are lined up saluting him as he’s carried to his burial grounds. I continue to follow my father and watch the Quileute boys place the casket down on the lowering device. Jacob came to stand beside me when he was finished helping. He had tears rolling down his face and so did I. When everyone was gathered around the burial site, many people were crying and I started saying my goodbyes. I put silver roses on his casket and then after Jacob is done, I lean into him and let the tears just fall not caring whether or not I get Jacob’s jacket wet.

I watch as others say goodbye to him. They slowly start to walk away and once everyone is gone, we have the gravedigger lower my father. Jacob and I stand here watching Charlie lowering into the ground. Once he’s covered, I don’t stick around. I just want to go back to my room and stay away from everyone. Jacob grabs my keys and helps me into the passenger seat. He climbs in the driver side and I lean my head on the window. I look out the window the whole drive home and wish that I’d been here more. I must have zoned out completely because all of a sudden the car is at a standstill and Jacob is standing outside my door.

“Come on, sweetheart, we need to get you inside,” he says opening the door. I nod and he helps me into  the house. I go into my room and lie on my bed.

I’m in a chair at the SeaTac Airport after twenty minutes of arriving here. I’m waiting for my flight home; Jessica called me this morning telling me that I was needed at the office, so I planned an earlier flight.  I can’t seem to stop crying; all I keep thinking about is the loss of my Dad. I don’t notice the person sitting next to me until he hands me a handkerchief. I look up at him and I see a beautiful topaz color looking back at me. His eyes look so sad, that’s when I notice that he’s concerned about me.

“Are you alright, Miss?” he asks. All I can do is shake my head, taking the handkerchief from him wiping my eyes and then my nose.

“Are you coming or going?” he asks, trying to change the subject.

“I’m going home.” I look at him again, but as I look at him, I can’t help but take in his beautiful copper hair.

“Were you here for business, or pleasure?” he asks curious.

“Neither, I came here for a funeral.” I couldn’t look at him any longer.

“Oh, I’m sorry, would you like to talk about it?”

“I just lost my father...” I choke out starting to cry again.

“That must be hard on you,” he says sympathetic.

“I don’t have anyone else. I was an only child, and my mom died during childbirth...” I can’t stop crying.

“I’m so sorry, Miss. Where are you going? I mean, where’s home?”

“Chicago...”

“No kidding, that’s my home too.”

I start laughing and he raises his eyebrows at me. I shake my head and I ask why he was in the Seattle area. He tells me about how his brothers got themselves into trouble and needed his professional help. He tells me that he has two brothers, Emmett and Alec. We talk more about him and then I start laughing again.

“What’s so funny?” he asks laughing.

“I don’t even know your name.” He looks at me and he drags his hands down his face.

“We’ve talked about our families, and yet I haven’t even told you my name...” he says shaking his head.

“I’m Bella,” I say holding my hand out to him.

“Edward, Edward Cullen,” he replies.

“No way! As in the son of Carlisle Cullen?” I ask flabbergasted.

“The one and the same,” he laughs.

“I think I need a drink, would you like to join me?” I ask him smiling.

“Of course, lead the way.”

I get up and he grabs my bags as I walk toward the nearest alcoholic bar. I order my usual and he just passes. “I didn’t think you were a whiskey kind of girl.”

“There’s a lot about me you don’t know, Mr. Cullen.” I take a sip of my Jack and Coke and smile at him. I look in his eyes and I freeze for just a second; his eyes are almost black. They call our flight and we get up and walk to our gate.

“Well, I guess, I’ll see you sometime in Chicago,” he says to me as I walk toward the plane taking my bags from him. I don’t fly coach anymore thanks to my job. I go to my seat in first class and go to sit down when I see him sitting next to my seat.

“How odd is that? We live in the same city, now we’re both in first class, and you’re sitting right next to me...” I say.

“Yeah, that is odd,” he replies with a smirk. Oh my god, I love that smirk. “So, do you want some help, Bella?”

“No, I’ve got it. It’s only my laptop and purse.”

“Don’t forget that clunky suitcase.” He starts laughing at me again.

“I’ll rest my feet on it. I’m good.” I roll my eyes and move my stuff so that it’s in front of my window seat. I finally sit down and settle in. I put in my earphones and turn on my iPod. After the plane has lifted up into the air, I hear someone say something. I take out one of my earphones and I look up at Edward and ask, “I’m sorry, did you say something?”

“I was just saying that that is a smart way to keep your mind on other things.”

“Oh, you think I’m afraid of planes?” I ask with my eyebrows raised. He nods. “No, I was just trying to zone out, it has been a hard week after all.”

“Mhmm, sure.”

“What?” I ask him slightly flustered.

“You don’t like me. I get it.” He looks at me with a frown.

“You are one crazy man, you know that?” I say laughing. I think I hear him whisper something like, “You have no idea,” but I could have been over-thinking things.

I look out the window and listen to my favorite song, Just a Dream by Nelly. The next thing I know, I feel something cold, I mean freezing cold, touching my hand. I look down at it and then I notice that Edward’s holding my hand. I start to blush at the contact, as he smiles at me and kisses the back of my hand. I smile back at him, noticing again that his eyes have changed color. When I got to my seat, his eyes were bright green, but now they’re nearly black again. What is it with this guy’s eyes?

I can’t stop looking into those black eyes, I’m drawn to them. He leans in and kisses me, but I’m so shocked that I don’t move. Once my mind catches up, I start kissing him back. I can’t help how he makes me feel, I feel like I need to be with him when I see his black eyes burning into my chocolate brown ones. When we finally pull back to catch our breath, the pilot comes on the intercom and announces that we’re getting ready to land at Miles City Airport.

We both had planned connected flights, so I grab my stuff and we both walk off of the plane together. We walk to the departure boards and notice that we have three hours until our plane leaves. He takes me into his arms and whispers, “I want you, Bella.”

I shiver and wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. He grabs my hips and pulls me closer to him, so that I can feel his erection against me. “Get me out of here,” I murmur against his lips.

“With pleasure,” he says as he kisses me again. He lets me back up and grabs my hand pulling me toward the exit. We find a nearby hotel and walk into the lobby. Before we can get to the desk, he pulls me into his arms again and kisses me determined to make me want him more.

“Edward, baby, please, let’s get a room...” I mumble. He nods and pulls me into his side.

“One room please.”

“How long will you be staying?” the lady at the desk asks.

“One night.”

She hands him a key to our room and he pays for the room. I smile at him when he looks at me. We walk to the elevator and once the door is shut, I back him into the corner. I lean against him and kiss his lips until he lifts me up. I wrap my legs around his waist and he turns us around so that I’m against the wall. He nibbles and licks my neck and I can’t help but moan in his ear. “God, Bella, I need you...” he trails off kissing my neck and  moving back up to my lips.

The elevator finally stops on our floor and he carries me, dragging my bags along to our room. He sets me down so that he can open the door. When we finally get into the room, I kiss him and he picks me up and at an impossible speed, he has me on the bed.

“How?”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you...”

“What, that you’re freezing cold and impossibly fast and your eyes go from green to black? I kind of figured it out...when you kissed me.”

“It’s not a...” I interrupt him by leaning on my elbows and kissing him. He can’t seem to get enough of me. He quickly strips me of my clothes, then he hisses at me.

“What’s wrong?” I ask.

“You’re amazing...” he murmurs, licking his lips and then he starts to kiss, lick, and nibble from my chest down to the top of my thong. I moan and he pulls it off of me, leaving me completely naked in front of him. He keeps moving his body down mine until he reaches my center and his head is between my legs. I start to squirm as he starts to lick and suck on my clit. He continues to lick me moving closer to my core. When he finally enters my core, I arch my back and grab at his hair pulling him closer, urging him on. He starts to thrust his tongue into me faster and I can’t stay still. He grabs my hips and fucks me with his tongue until I’m on the edge. Once I’m on the edge, he inserts a finger into me and then starts to suck on my clit again.

“Oh my...god! Edward...please, don’t...stop!” I scream. He inserts another finger and thrusts a few more times and I can’t hold it any longer.

“Come for me, baby,” he moans against my center. It’s too much and I come into his mouth. He starts to lick me clean, and once he’s done, he looks at me and asks, "Do you want a taste, baby?”

I nod and he climbs up the bed until he reaches my lips and I eagerly lock my lips with his and he lets me enter his mouth. I can’t help the moan that escapes from my throat, I’ve never tasted anything like it. I can’t get enough, but he pulls back so that I can breathe. His eyes are still black and it turns me on more. “I need you...” he whispers in my ear.

“Yes...please!” I beg him, pulling at his jeans. He hasn’t taken his clothes off yet. Edward gets up and strips as I watch. I can’t stop staring as he stands there in just his boxers, with his hard on more than obvious. He notices me staring at smiles at me, as he crawls in between my legs again. I peel off his boxers and push them down with my feet. He lines himself up with my body, and he slowly enters me. I just can’t handle the slow movement of his cold member inside of me, so I wrap my legs around his waist and he hisses in my ear.

“I-I can’t...” he hesitates.

“You won’t hurt me. I promise...” I trail off.

“If I even get close to hurting you, you tell me,” he says as he yields with my body.

“Yes!” I scream.

He starts to pick up his speed and I wrap my arms around his neck pulling him close to me. He pulls me up so that I’m sitting on his lap with him inside of me, while he’s still on his knees. I start to rock my hips and he grips my hips harder, as he moves faster.

“You like that, baby?” he asks as he pistons inside of me.

“Yes, oh yes...Edward!!” I scream as he continues to thrust into me like a mad man.

“Oh god, Bella, I’m so...oh God...baby, I need you to get off of me...” he begs.

“No...” I continue to rock myself on his lap and he lifts my hips and then slams me back down onto his cock. “Edward!!” I scream as I explode around him.

He thrusts a few more times, until he comes inside me. “Bellllla!!” he screams as he loses his energy and collapses on top of me. “God, baby, that was amazing...” he says in my ear.

“Mhmm..” I hum as I run my hands through his hair. We lie here for another hour and then we make love sweeter and slower until we have half an hour until we have to leave. I must have fallen asleep for a few minutes, because I can’t see him and he’s not in bed with me. I start to hear water running and then he walks out of the bathroom and walks up to the bed. He pulls me out of bed and carries me into the bathroom. Edward sits in the tub and rests me in front of him. I can barely move, he’s loved me so thoroughly. I cuddle into his chest and yawn, glad for the hot water around me and his arms around me.

He starts to get my hair wet and then he washes it for me. “Can I return the favor?” I ask him.

“If you think you can manage,” he says, smirking at me.

“I can manage,” I say, playfully slapping his chest, I grab the sponge and get it soaked. I get his hair wet and then empty some of the shampoo onto my hand. I lather my hands together and then he lifts me onto his lap so that I can run my hands through his hair. I get his hair all soapy and then I rub it in. Then I grab the sponge again and rinse his hair. He lifts me up this time so that he can get out and grab a towel. He gets the bathrobe for me and wraps me up in it, carrying me back to the bed.

“Edward, can we do this again?” I ask him, hoping to God that he’ll say yes.

“I hope so, Bella, I hope so.”

We get dressed and then we go back to the airport after dropping off the key to the room. We get on the plane and fly home. Edward and I hold hands until the airplane lands. I give him my business card, but he has nothing to give me. We part ways and I go home to get some sleep before I need to go to work tomorrow.

***IWNF***

It’s been a week since my encounter with Edward, and I haven’t heard anything from him. I decide to send Dr. Cullen a letter to give to his son.

Dear Stranger,

You saw me crying at the airport. Thank you for your understanding,
for caring, for giving me hope on the loneliest day of my life.

I WON’T FORGET

I seal it and write “Edward Cullen” on the outside of the envelope hoping that Dr. Cullen will give this to his son, the one who has given me hope.
