(no subject)

Oy. I just got back from a book discussion group. I and one other person attended, we being the only people who thought the books were required reading and therefore showed up. So Shaad, the counselors, and I attempted to discuss literature. It was all very face value and barely scratched the surface, and the counselors kept saying, "next year, when you go here..." and I wanted to kill myself a little bit. There was one counselor whose opinion I valued, and I may ask her to discuss the book further with me later, she's an English Lit major and seemed to sort of know her stuff.

My vow to not attend this college is strengthened. Thankfully, I don't have to. I just didn't want a bunch of people to talk about books with deep cores and subject matters like that. Maybe I'm just a huge lit snob. It's just... twenty year olds should have made better comments than, "she was lonely. yea... lonely," and, "this book was too deep for the summer. and they assigned TWO?"

Back to Philosophy.
