“donghae-ah, who are you texting this late at night? Don’t u have class tomorrow?”
“ahh, its just this guy. He kinda like my stalker.”
“stalker? Who is he??”
“I don’t know his name, he wont tell me.”
“then why are you still texting him? Isn’t it suspicious hae?”
“but, he’s fun! Its feels like we’ve known each other for long even though I don’t know him..hmm, am I making sense there.”
“ahh, suit yourself then. Im heading to bed, you should too!”
“ok hyung~”
The situation where a certain lee donghae keeps on texting his so called stalker goes on for weeks. Lee donghae is getting more and more irritated with the said guy when he always refuses to tell his name and far away from introducing himself directly. Well, donghae knows that the other is shy and all, but seriously, if you were that shy, why would you make the first move, rite? And these thoughts go along inside donghae’s head for days. Until---
“hae, did you heard bout heechul prank on kibum?”
“huh??what did he do this time?”
“well, he kinda acts like kibum biggest secret admirer and always text him about how he loves him and all, after they agreed to meet each other, then suddenly heechul came and shouted GOTCHA! Heechul is such a prank master don’t ya think?!”
“huh? Heechul did that? A prank?”
And now donghae can only think about his situation with his ‘stalker’, is it a real stalker? Does the guy really likes him or is it one of his friends trying to prank him? So, one day he decided that if that stalker of him wouldn’t talk, he would stop talking too. And the poor stalker decided again to ignore the simple question of ‘what’s your name?’ and this lee donghae also decided to ignore his ‘stalker’. But the said stalker wouldn’t leave him alone, thousands of missed calls, millions of messages and hundreds of voicemail were received from that one number. Being an impatient person donghae is, he send that one line message that makes all the calls, messages and voicemails stops;
‘stop bothering me’
That was all it takes. Now there is no more silly and cute messages wishing him good morning, good night, good luck and whatsoever, no more a concern phone call after he’s injured while playing football earlier, no more study guide because his stalker is a smart kid! And clearly no more use of his cell phone now. Donghae feels somewhat lonely without his stalker. And sometimes it crossed his mind, was he too harsh on him? he also feels like contacting the guy sometime. Perhaps it wasn’t meant to be because donghae never did that. Life goes on for lee donghae though he knows it best it was dull and boring than ever.
Until one day, he received;
‘Thank you for everything, take care. 143’
Though he understands most of the message, those last three digits really confused him. He can’t figure it out even until now. Was it his room number? No, donghae checked every room number 143 and no one seems like his stalker. Was it the guy id number? Well, donghae did his research, and everyone associated with that number would be a girl, well that was obvious because of the odd number 3 there. Until he decided to give up, but he did call the guy to ask about it, but there was no luck. The phone number wasn’t even in the system. Well that was what the operator told him.
After few weeks of having the feeling of irritation and lost, he decided to look for help. Where would this help be? Well it was more than a who than where. So, donghae seeks help from the know-it-all heechul. And it is a wonder how heechul does know-it-all. But lets just say heechul never told him the real truth. He only says;
“ah, that’s hyukjae’s phone number. Lee hyukjae. He’s in engineering, but I think he’s not here anymore. He went somewhere to further his studies, I don’t remember where though”
Donghae knows that this hyukjae aka his stalker was leaving him the moment he received that message. But he just cant get himself to bother why he have these feelings. Then life goes on again for lee donghae until,
“ hyung, you got to see this guy, he’s damn awesome!i cant believe he’s an engineering student!”
“what, are you talking about that dance-machine guy again?”
“well yeah hyung!im in love with him now! He’s so cool!!”
“I thought he’s not even in korea”
“Well, he’s not here now, but hyung, he is a former student here. Then he was also great in academic and now he’s in London. Isn’t he perfect?”
“Yeah, whatever kyuhyun-ah. So, what’s the name of this guy you’re in love with?”
“He dance by the name eunhyuk but his real name is lee hyukjae”
“wait!...what was his name again?”
“l-e-e h-y-u-k-j-a-e. Why so curious?”
“kyu, do you have pictures of him? Can I have one”
Later that night, we can see a certain lee donghae tying up the know-it-all kim heechul, and let’s just say that night, everything reveals itself. Everything that heechul knows, well that practically means everything. From how lee hyukjae was so in love with this lee donghae, how he was so giddy when he got the later phone number as a birthday present, how he was crushed and left broken hearted. And the one that pains donghae the most would be, how hyukjae couldn’t focus on his specialty, his studies after that stupid incident he caused. Then, everything was clear to him. Until;
“….hyung, I don’t know what to do…”
“well, lee donghae, the number one question is, why are you still thinking about him?”
“ ….. I don’t know… I guess, I was ‘just wondering’ bout him…”
There's always a real reason behind every "just wondering"
But the fact is that, the thing between donghae and hyukjae was already in the past. Who knows with who hyukjae is now and maybe just maybe he is happy with the one he loves over there. And again, who was donghae to suddenly go and claim him, not when he toss hyukjae away just like that. No, his pride would never allow him to do that to hyukjae. But, if only lee hyukjae would say he still loves him. Or he still remembers him, if only that happen, lee donghae knows he would drop everything and ran to hyukjae. If only that happens.
