De-tonsil-ification commences in T-8 days
Yep, that's right.
After almost three years on the public waiting list, I got a phone call at work last Wednesday afternoon from the local hospital wanting to do a pre-admission check for an impending tonsillectomy. News to me as they hadn't bothered to notify me yet. Yay!
I am scared of the operation (never been in hospital) and stressed about work / my essay / Getting Things Done, but it will be incredibly good to finally be able to eat and sleep properly, not to mention the elimination of tonsillitis from my life forever.
My tonsils swelled up a little last Tuesday for the first time in about a year... I think they knew - just getting in a little friendly last bit of torture before they're gone FOREVAH.
I have been wanting to post about this for DAYS because I have whinged about my health on here so often, I thought you would all be pleased to know - only one more bout of super-concentrated whinging and then we're done! I will have a couple of weeks off work and once I'm able, I will be able to procrastinate on LJ alll dayyy longgg while I'm not tryyyying to write my 7000 word essay. ;D
First thing I am going to say when coherent and can squeak words out is something to the effect of 'KATE 1 TONSILS 0: DIE, FUCKERS, DIE'.
Also, to all the naysayers who 'helpfully' have said to me 'Oh there's no point getting them out, they grow back you know' - WTF, I don't care! I will have them out five times if I have to!
