Damn you, Belle Chere.

Yesterday evening, I was driving up to Asheville to chill with my homies, and I ended up getting nightmarishly lost because of you. I drove down miles of alleys and twisted backroads, ended up in a stockyard, barely made it under grimy bridges that were so low they almost shaved off the top of my car. Because of you, I almost ran over about a dozen freaky people, and had to dodge groups of drunk/high emo kids running out into the road, disregarding traffic signals and the fact that there was a huge Buick LeSabre careening right at them. All of this was exacerbated because of the fact that it was raining--which I'm sure is your fault, too; of course it would rain on the weekend of the biggest outdoor music festival/orgy/hurly-burly in Western NC. So, thank you. Thank you for a beautiful weekend.

Anyway, after I reached my destination--about an hour late--the night greatly improved. I got to converse with Shannon for many happy, drunken hours about the merits and pitfalls (especially those) of Pirates of the Carribbean II. Then more UNCA kids showed up and it turned into a party.

Then I got sick and had to go to bed.

But before that, it was great. Perhaps it's the first real Friday night I've had since summer began.

I am hung over and ready to take a nap.
