Over the past few weeks, I've been trying to get into the Illinois Film Office's Internship Program. Basically, you work in their office as needed, and should major film productions come to town there's a good chance you would be put to work on it.

Over the years I've heard of the IFO Internship, but it wasn't until last November that I realized how phenominal of an opportunity it is. Today I went in for my interview and was completely expecting a hard hitting police interrogation-like interview where I had to sell myself like crazy. Instead, it was more like a final interview where she basically told me all the work I'd be doing and when can I start/how many days would I work. It's like I got the job without getting job. I have to wait till late April to know for sure.

My resume was good. The fact that I know Photoshop was a big plus (to help them digitize their database of locations). More importantly, a woman who works their knows my mother and I, and during the interview I found I came "highly recommended" from her. Big points. I don't want to jinx it, but things are sounding pretty good so far.

The best case scenario would be getting the internship and getting to work on Michael Mann's new film Most Wanted with Johnny Depp. That way I can rub it in Michi's face every day.
