So I got the visual style for Geist Reich a few weeks ago, and I've been thinking of the design of the character off and on since then. The main character is there on the cover image, but it's only his back. There were a couple of failed designs (which I'm not posting cause they look like shit), but last week when I was helping my mom with something I ended up doing a rough sketch in my notebook. Then BAM, I was like "holy shit, this is what I want."
That's the rough image of the character after I did some basic coloring with a china marker and the pencil I was using. I left it like that for a while, then thought I had to scan this into my comp and make it look good. I did, and raped the hell out of it with Photoshop to come up with this:
What do you think? Ah, the wonder of computers. I feel like I'm one of those really shitty pop stars: I'm not the best singer (drawer in my case), but once I filter it all through a machine it comes out much better. Whatever, fuck it.
