It never bothers me to be in the house alone. But right now, after my sister's gone to bed, it is just way too quiet. How strange. This doesn't often happen. I'm not sick anymore. I've gotten over the flu, but it ruined a lot of the plans I had for vacation. I had all these things I wanted to do, and none of them ended up happening. We did end up visiting Hartwick and SUNY Oneonta. I liked Oneonta, but I loved Hartwick. It's like a castle! The campus climbs up around this steep hill, and all the buildings have stairwells and little nooks and crannies everywhere. They have beautiful art and music studios, and a January term where you take just one class, and it can be anything you want, just for fun even, or you can study abroad for a month. It's not even terribly expensive. I could pay for it one summer working at Fowler. They have an English major with an education concentration. Standing up anywhere on campus, you can see for miles and miles, but the best part is the off-campus facility called Pine Lake. It's this huge wooded area (956 acres) with a lake, and woods, and peat marshes where they have some classes, and do some research, and...30 students live there every semester! How cool is that? You can move there after your first semester, and it sounds amazing. The girl who gave our tour lives there, and she loves it. It's incredible. Can you imagine spending the summer working at camp, living at a place called Pine Lodge, and then moving there when school started? I'm in love with this school. I am so excited to apply there.
