To be honest, I think the main reason that it fought so hard with me is because I've been marathoning the old school serials lately. I had to rewatch a lot of the 2006 series just to get used to the Tenth Doctor and Rose again.

Ah, I enjoyed this. Loved all the aborted attempts at Volcano Day, lol! especially this one:

Rose only opened the door a tiny crack before she slammed it shut. "There are pink aliens out there," she said, raising an eyebrow.

ha! And the talk at the end, few words, but such a history behind them.
