First of all, I finally have my laptop back. So, yay! :)
There's just one little problem. You see, they sent me a new power cord with it since my old one was in rough shape (i.e., being held together by electrical tape and paper clips) . . . except the new one was completely dead.
No, I'm not kidding. *headdesk* It'll take a few days for them to get a new one to me, but - until then - Nikki said that I can use hers to keep my battery charged.
In more serious news, let's talk about one of my friends from school. I've mentioned Jeremy, a former grad student here, a few times, most recently last summer when talking about the trip I took to Washington D.C. for a class. He's kind of like a big teddy bear - one of those guys that it's impossible not to like.
Anyway, he's been in China since August as an English teacher. He was attacked by elephant this past Thursday, and he's still in pretty bad shape. One of his friends over there is another former student from here, and he's been keeping us updated since it happened. They were planning on flying Jeremy to a hospital in Bangkok sometime today if he was stable enough to move, but we haven't heard anything yet.
