Another Shoney's Story

For the third night in a row, I had to close the restaurant. *makes face* Fun, huh?

Anyway, I ended up being really late because a lot of people came in right before we closed. Most of them were regular customers, but there was one couple that really stood out.

This man and woman who were somewhere in their late-twenties/early-thirties came in, literally, one minute before we locked the doors. Since I already have five or six tables, I didn't worry to much at first. I figured that I was already going to be stuck there for at least another hour, so one more table wouldn't hurt.

Then they ordered.

Or, more precisely, she ordered.

The guy got some friend shrimp, which isn't too expensive and takes about two minutes to make. The woman, on the other hand, ordered a steak. And grilled salmon. And a salad. And a slice of strawberry pie. And a fudge cake. And a piece of apple crisp.

Apparently they'd had some kind of bet, and the loser had to buy the winner dinner. And you should have seen the boyfriend's face when he realized that she was really taking him out to the cleaner's tonight.
