I just paid $11.20 for my plane tickets back to Tennessee at Christmas! \o/
(Well, that plus 25,000 airline miles. But still.)
I've been keeping an eye out for free-to-me flights around Christmas, but they were all requiring a ridiculous amount of airline miles. I was checking on my flight to Chicago for VividCon later this week, though, and decided to take a quick look at December. And, lo and behold, I managed to snatch up a flight that was within my airline miles range. Which means basically no money out of pocket for me.
Plus, even better, the timing means I'm only going to be in Tennessee for a little over 72 hours this year (which is very much a good thing, as any chance of keeping the peace would disappear after much longer than that). I'm flying in on the morning of Christmas Eve (Saturday), and then I'm flying back around lunchtime on the following Tuesday. Saturday with Mom's side of the family, Sunday with Dad's side of the family, and Monday in Lynchburg for our annual luncheon at Miss Mary Bobo's.
And then back to Maryland on Tuesday. Who knows? I might not even have to kill anyone with a schedule that tightly packed. (Of course, it also increases the odds that my flight could potentially get cancelled due to weather. But hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing.)
