Wow. I've really failed at posting to DW/LJ this past month, haven't I? :-/
In my defense, I have been (mostly) keeping up with reading over here. I just haven't done much posting and/or commenting. I've been tweeting quite a bit over on
Twitter recently, simply because it's been easier for my brain to do micro-blogging than anything more in-depth.
Let's see...
There's been family drama, because of course there has. I don't know why I thought that moving 800+ miles away would help keep me out of it. It's of the type that should probably be talked about under a friends lock, though, so I'll probably put together a post on that front sometime in the next few days.
On a similar note, there's been some (fairly minor so far) drama at Unnamed Nonprofit. It hasn't been anything directly affecting me yet, which is nice, but I've still be caught on the edges of it to some extent simply because it's fucking hard to avoid things when everyone around you is constantly discussing them. Once again, though, it's the type of thing that should go under a lock so details will have to wait on it as well.
Part-Time Job has been going well, at least. All of the changes have been in effect for a while now, and they appear to have finally worked out most of the kinks. I've been doing pretty good at getting my hours done fairly early in the week, and I'm slowly getting used to the new schedule. I've also discovered that setting my laptop up on the desk to the right of my desktop, angled slightly, makes it very easy to watch Netflix, or YouTube, or whatever while still doing work. Which has been very helpful.
On a fannish front, I've fallen headfirst into Critical Role and don't see myself leaving anytime soon. I'm still pretty involved in Dragon Age as well, with the occasional foray into Mass Effect, but that's basically it. Well, other than reading new chapters of
Sansûkh (The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings/Tolkien in general) and the
Jedi Shmi AU (Star Wars) as they're posted.
Of course, VividCon is next week. So, you know, I'm probably going to find myself with at least a few new fandoms in the near future, based on past experience.
Pokémon Go is kind of awesome. I'm playing it in my spare time, and I'm not taking it nearly as seriously as some people seem to be doing. I'm having a lot of fun with it, though, especially since my apartment seems to be full of Eevees. No, really. So many Eevees. (This isn't a bad thing.) For those of you who are still active on DW, you may want to check on
pokestop.
I'm going to try to do better at posting over here on a regular basis. We'll see how it goes?
