As always, I walked away from VividCon with at least a few new fandoms catching my attention. Some of them were expected, others... not so much.
One that I had very much expected was Daredevil and, despite my current non-love for the MCU, I think that I'm going to watch it when I get some free time. Mainly because I actually do really want to watch Jessica Jones (because it's fucking Jessica Jones ♥) when it comes out later this year, and I expect they're going to have some ties considering they're both Netflix series.
Sense8 also made the to-watch list, which I wasn't really surprised about but I wasn't expecting quite as much as with the previous show. I've heard good and bad things about it, but I think that I'm going to at least give it a shot.
The one that I wasn't expecting in the least bit was The Librarians, although looking back I really shouldn't have been so surprised. I've heard lots of awesome things about the movies/series in the past, but I've just... never found the time to watch them. That needs to change. Soon.
I felt Doctor Who tugging at the corners of my attention a few times throughout the con, but I'm not sure if it's enough to really get me excited about the show again. I think it's going to depend on what types of reactions I start seeing when new episodes air again. I'm willing to give it another shot, but I still need some convincing.
There was a surprising amount of Buffy this year, and between the vids and the fannish programming where we talked about the history of the fandom (which, by the way, is what got me into vidding in the first place), I think that I might be due a rewatch sometime soon. It's only twelve seasons once you add in A:tS, right? :-P
I want to rewatch Deep Space Nine. That feeling comes up about once a year no matter what, but there were actually several DS9 vids shown at the con this time, which is only making the urge worse.
I've got to admit, the History of Escapade vidshow really made me walk away wanting to rewatch even more older shows that I haven't watched in years, which I didn't expect. I definitely foresee a rewatch of Invisible Man and Highlander sometime in the not-too-far-off future. (The, uh, Stargate SG-1 rewatch has already started, mainly because I realized that I can watch the episodes for free thanks to my Amazon Prime account.)
Also, only tangibly related to VividCon (in that I was discussing the show with someone there which is what got me thinking about), I really need to get caught up on Once Upon a Time. Mainly because sometimes I really want to watch train wrecks happen for myself. (Plus I'm honestly curious as to where things are going to go this next season, considering the vague working knowledge I have of everything that happened in the second half of this previous season.)
