Talking Meme: Day #15

From
thebonesofferalletters: Three things you absolutely revel in.

Autumn. Winter is much too cold for my tastes, summer is too hot, and spring equals allergies. Fall, though, that's something else entirely. I love the sight of leaves falling from the trees, ranging from green to yellow to orange to red to brown. I love the crispness in the air, where it's cool but not freezing. I love apples and pumpkins and all of the other fall fruits and vegetables. I love bonfires and hayrides and Halloween. Just... autumn.

Lounging in bed. There's just something special about being able to just stay in bed, even when -- no, especially when -- you're awake. Reading a book. Watching a movie on a laptop. Being a personal heater for two adorable black cats. I don't get to do it nearly as much as I'd like nowadays. Weekdays, I have work. Sundays, I have church. Hell, most Saturdays I force myself to get up and actually do work for Part-Time Job, or write fanfiction, or clean the apartment, or anything that resembles being a productive adult. But sometimes? Every now and then? I let myself stay in bed, just for thirty minutes or an hour, and oh. It's wonderful.

Video games. Don't get me wrong, most of my fannish pursuits are a bit of an escape (and, uh, a time suck if I want to be honest) for me. Comics, movies, television shows, and everything else. Video games are in a category all of their own, though, because you're participating in them. You're choosing what happens, who it happens to, how things go in the end. If I don't Character A and Character B's interactions on a tv show or in a movie, there's not a lot I can do about it. I mean, there's fanfiction, but canon is canon. With video games? You can go back. You can replay it. You can change what happened or what it happened or how it happened.
