Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Better late than never, right?

Anyway, wow, that was... quite a movie. I honestly wasn't expecting them to dismantle S.H.I.E.L.D. quite so thoroughly, especially not in the manner that they did. It made sense, I just didn't see it coming.

Speaking of things that I didn't see coming: Sitwell! :-(

Um, let's see. I was pleasantly surprised by just how large a role Maria Hill played in the movie, and I totally want fic about her and Pepper Potts now that she's apparently working for Stark Industries. Sam Wilson was basically ♥♥♥, and I'll stand by that description forever.

STEVE FEEEEELS! (There may possibly be another vid in the same series as Carry On and The War Was In Color once high quality source is available. I'm just saying.)

I went to see the movie with Mouse, and the two of us both muttered, at the exact same time, "Nick Fury is a lying liar who lies" the moment he was declared dead. Because, oh Marvel, like you really expected anyone to actually think you'd kill off Samuel L. Jackson.

I'd like my Black Widow movie now, please. I'm very curious to see what the MCU is planning on doing with her backstory, especially since they do seem to be going with a 1980s birthdate for her, and there are quite a few ways they could play it.

I'm very curious to find out where, well, everyone else was during this movie. There was speculation that Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 were going to be set at the same time, to explain why nobody else showed up, but that's definitely not the case. Until I hear otherwise, I'm working under the assumption that HYDRA was keeping them busy elsewhere.

... except for Clint. Until I'm told otherwise by canon, this scene explains where Clint was during the movie.

Did I mention that Sam Wilson was ♥♥♥?

For a movie called Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there was a surprising lack of, well, the Winter Soldier. Not in a bad way! I'm actually very happy that they didn't try to cram the entire storyline into one film. It very much needs to be drawn out, and I'm perfectly fine with them doing so.

There also wasn't nearly as much Sharon as I was expecting either.

I've seen some discussion of this in other people's journals and, based on what we saw in the movie as well as just where they filmed in DC last year, I think it's safe to say that Steve Rogers has been living in Dupont. Which is amusing in many ways. But, yeah, if anyone has been trying to find that information for fic purposes? Dupont.

It's nice to finally see mutants miracles mutants people who can be described using an M-word in the MCU. Pietro! Wanda!

Okay, I know that I can't be the only one thinking it but if Abed somehow managed to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D., Troy had to be there somewhere.

Also, just in case I didn't mention it already, Sam Wilson was ♥♥♥.
