Oh, desktop...
Note to self: no matter how gratifying it might be to toss your desktop computer out the nearest window, you will eventually regret it. So try to resist the urge.
(Needless to say, the "randomly turns off" issue has not yet been fixed. It doesn't happen in safe mode, so I really do think it's a driver issue -- or possibly some random something that's overheating despite the computer itself not being anywhere near worry levels -- but I've yet to figure out what the fuck is actually causing it.)
