When I posted the wishlist meme last weekend, one of the things that I asked for was Amazon.com giftcards because the DVD player on my desktop has all but died (sometimes if I hit it hard enough it will read a DVD, but it's extremely hit-or-miss and, you know, I don't like having to punch my computer for a wide variety of reasons) and has been making it difficult for me to get source for vidding. Several of you sent me some, and they added up to enough that I was able to afford the balance on an external blu ray/DVD player that simply plugs into the USB ports on my computer.
It arrived yesterday, and I've been testing it out the past hour or two. It appears to work great on both DVDs and blu rays, and it looks like not only will I be able to rip DVDs again for vidding purposes but I'll finally be able to capture my own hi-def source from blu rays without having to depend on getting it through *ahem* other sources despite my owning it already.
So, basically, now I need to get my ass in gear and finish my stories for fic exchanges so that I get to work on Festivids so that I can finally work on the multiple Once Upon a Time vids that I want to be making. And the third Steve Rogers vid that I want to make but am trying my best to resist the temptation. At least until after Cap 2 comes out.
Also, thank you to everyone who sent me BPAL imps! If you're in the States, I've received your package, and a lot of what the two of you sent me are things that have been on my "oh, I really want to try this out!" list. ♥
You know how I sometimes will go weeks without posting? And then, sometimes, I'll make something like a dozen posts all in one day? Yeah. Uh, sorry?
