How I spent my (almost) three-day vacation...

Jul 10, 2010 01:54

I ended up getting to go home early (as in, ten minutes after the dinner shift started) on Wednesday, and I've been off the last few days. While I haven't accomplished what I was hoping to get done on the fannish front (reading many back issues of Fables, Green Lantern, and Justice League International, as well as re-reading most of the current run of X-Factor kind of, uh, took away from my fic-writing), I've actually been productive. Well, somewhat productive, at least.

(Yay, me!)

Let's see. What have I done?

On Wednesday night, I went to check out a tattoo place someone recommended. I'm going back sometime next week to actually talk to one of the artists, who I think might be the right guy to finish my backpiece. Once I was done there, I decided on the spur-of-the-moment to get my cartilage repierced (in both ears). I got it done for the first time back in '08, but I wasn't allowed to wear earrings in those holes at the Restaurant of Doom™ so they closed up. Since, at my current place of work, they don't care what you have pierced as long as it's small and not too noticeable to the customers, I figured why not?

... and then I went back the next day and got my earlobes pierced for the third time each.

What? Don't look at me like that. I figured my ears were going to hurt for the next week or two anyway, plus I'd probably be sleeping on my back (well, trying to sleep at least), so I might as well just get the fourth hole in each one done now. Otherwise, I'd just wait a few months and then get them pierced, and I'd have to go through the whole "damn it, I forgot that it's impossible for me to sleep on my back" thing again.

I've bought my airplane tickets for vividcon, so that's official now. (Note to self: Talk with roommates at con, find out when they're arriving, and get phone number.) Oh, and I balanced my checkbook. There might have been wailing and gnashing of teeth involved.

Many thanks to everyone who helped me with my coding issues last night (especially
sarken). My journal over on Dreamwidth (
settiai, for those of you reading on LiveJournal) finally has a layout.

Also, for the record? I have seven bookshelves in my room, admittedly some larger than others. Yet I'm almost out of room for all of my books. That's... probably a sign, though of what I'm not certain.
