I was supposed to work a double shift (fun, fun), opening at 10:30 this morning and then working through to the night shift. There were only two servers this morning, me and M, yet - from the time we opened the doors at 11:30 until our first shift ended at 4:00 - we each only had four tables. Seven customers for me (three tables of 2, one table of 1) and nine for him (three tables of 2, one table of 3). Sixteen customers in the restaurant all day long, not counting the private party going on up on the second floor (that had nothing to do with us).
Hell, the bar even had less than five customers all day. That's never a good sign.
So, yes, when 4:00 rolled around, my manager asked if M and I really wanted to stay and work tonight. I promptly told him "not really," and when my last customer left fifteen minutes or so later I got to go home. At which point I started my usual fandom-related Saturday activities before heading to check out the apartments' swimming poll that opened today while said activities finished.
What am I doing now? Drinking beer, watching an episode of X-Men: Evolution (Oh my God, this show is addicting! I mean, it's a canon High School AU!), and trying to decide if I'm really in the mood to watch the new episode of Doctor Who based on spoilers I've heard and what I've pieced from my friends list based on reactions outside of the cut.
