I finally recieved my wedding invitation from Jonathan Henley. I don't know if I should be happy or mad. Maybe I'm asking too much. But generally, when you recieve a wedding invitation, isn't there usually information regarding the reception? What does that mean if you don't? Am I obliged to buy something for him and his girl-I-don't-know if I wasn ( Read more... )

Hmm... I dunno what to say about that, but usually when it doesn't include any information and such.. it's just an announcement. Then again, I say that, but I've only ever been to 2 weddings, one of which I half planned... so I'm nowhere near an expert XD;;

Hmmmmmm...

It wasn't a save-the-date card, right?

If it wasn't, and it mentioned NOTHING of a reception, then a) there isn't one, or b) you're not invited.

Maybe they're not having one? Receptions are bloody expensive. But either way, I'd say it's up to you about the present if no reception is mentioned.

The card states something along the lines of "requesting your presence on such and such a date at 3:00", so is it safe to assume that it is an invite to the ceremony? If it was just a notice, it wouldn't request presence, right? It just seems slightly unorthodox to send out invitations with no RSVP...

I appreciate your input, Jen. :-D

Yeah--it definitely sounds like the ceremony to me. If it was a save-the-date card, it wouldn't be so specific.

I've been invited to JUST a mormon reception, since I wasn't mormon, and they don't allow non-mormons into their church...and that was weird.

Anyway, like I said, maybe they're having a small reception to save money, but they still want you at the wedding, ya know? Maybe just call and ask him?

Just call the Henley. You're his friend, and even though you love him with the passion of a burning star, you wouldn't begrudge him his wedding, and would like to know when and where this ceremony it to take place. I'm sure he'd be delighted to tell you any information you need to know.
