I'm Livin' For The Weekend~
News tiiiiiiiiiime.
1) 'Fore I forget, I'm going to my gramma's in Chilliwack for a week starting on Saturday. She hasn't got a computer or any internet. The nearest computer that I'd probably be able to use is my aunt's, twenty minutes driving distance from gramma's. So pretty much I won't be on the computer, but I can try and check my email once or twice when I visit my aunt.
2) I have a work conference on the twentieth in Calgary, but we have to leave on the nineteenth. The week between me coming back from gramma's and the conference will be spent working. See me on the twenty-second if you wanna hang out. XD;
3) I now have information and such to start undergoing testing to see if one of my kidneys would possibly be a match for Dad's. He's started dialysis, which is the last stage before kidney transplant. He's already on a list for a general transplant, but if he gets a kidney from a willing live donor, the list (and therefore wait) drops substantially. If the testing matches and everything goes well, then I will be donating one of my kidneys to my father. I've already made up my mind. I know this is a big deal, which is why I'm letting all of you know. I'll keep you all updated on how the bloodwork and scans and stuff go.
I just feel as if I don't want to sit by and have Dad wait for a donor. If he needs a kidney immediately, I'd rather have myself tested to make sure he has one if he needs one.
If you guys want more information about the whole testing and stuff, just lemme know 'cause I got a whole swack of papers and pamphlets about it.
During the week of working, I'll be donating ten percent of all my earnings to the BC Kidney Foundation for all of their support through this stuff. ♥~
