Hey have you seen Gone Girl yet? I don't read everyone of your posts so I don't know. Hitch would be proud right down to the icey blonde. Seriously I've rarely seen a film that owes so much of its tone to him. I HAD read the book so I knew what was coming - I think people who have NOT would like it even more. I got the new film comment magazine this past week and Fincher lists Vertigo as one of the greatest influences on ALL his films. He says why does nobody ever say "hey Scottys a damn stalker!" Is it because hes played by lovable Jimmy Stewart? Anyway you MUST see it if you have not - I saw it on opening day.

Not yet. I was sort of thinking about seeing it.

I got the new film comment magazine this past week and Fincher lists Vertigo as one of the greatest influences on ALL his films.

I'm not surprised. I see the influence of Vertigo in so many modern films and television shows.

He says why does nobody ever say "hey Scottys a damn stalker!" Is it because hes played by lovable Jimmy Stewart?

He is hired to follow her but the stalker subtext is certainly integral to what's happening. The detective following the concerned husband's wife is a thin pretext for what's really happening.
