More Drama Babble

First off... In trying to replace my lost dramas, I've been downloading subtitled versions of my shows. So! Today I got to show the first episode of "Ryuusei no Kizuna" to ladyofthegate and calhale. I know Jess didn't watch it too closely, but it seemed to go over moderately well. Later we watched Ep. 1 of Ouran... which is so many kinds of awesome that I didn't even remember them all. The current summer watching list is: Ouran, Tutu, FuruBa, Pretear, and... something else?

Last night I watched 5-7 of "Mei-chan no Shitsuji" and I'm in the midst of Episode 8 now.

This show is really making me realize how a show with a relatively crack-filled start and concept can rally settle into a more meaningful story. There's so much growth and character development has happened in the last couple of episodes. And suddenly from two love stories that I didn't like, they've built two pairings that I seriously approve of (even if they are mutually exclusive). AND they've developed the supplemental cast to the point that I really care about most of the minor characters as well. (And not just because Jutta is adorable. :D)
Really, the best stuff in 7 and 8 (and hopefully the rest) has been watching Shinobu and Rihito. Rihito's development has been gradual and watching a character grow and the actor be challenged along with it is one of my favorite things about drama stories.
What Shinobu will do in these last two episodes, I'm not sure. Obviously there will be Plotty McPlot. And Drama of the capital D kind. Looks like it'll actually be lighter fare than the last episode or two though. More Drama and less Angst.

Also... having looked through my DVDs and other harddrives, I have a list of my download priorities for the next little while.

-Mei-chan 1-4
-Ryuusei no Kizuna 2-end
-Maoh (all)
-Love Shuffle 1-9
-UtaOni (all)
-HanaDan original 6-end)

ドラマ, computer angst, ryuusei no kizuna, mei-chan no shitsuji
