Steve 101
I've learned more about myself in the last year than I have in the 32 years prior, and some of it is pretty compelling to me. So, not that I expect any of you to think, "I must know more about Steve," but I'm going to write about the facts I've learned about my personality. Part of me considers this some personal statements of affirmation and confessions to weakness. The other part of me is motivated by what I'm about to write as yet another opportunity to constantly be aware. Welcome to Steve 101.
1. I'm your typical Pisces in many ways, but I brake my sign in half in many others.
2. I'm very easy going, until I'm taken for granted for too long, and then I become a very different person who isn't so easy going.
3. I'm mentally weak for romance. I'm a sucker for it. But you'd better believe I keep that hidden behind iron/steel composite walls. You'll never get through them; I need to open them up, at which point its very difficult for me to reverse directions.
4. I'm very sensitive to the words spoken by those I care very deeply about. I can handle constructive criticism from just about anyone, direct negative criticism from people I don't care about, but have a very hard time with harsh words spoken by those I love.
5. I'm full of unrelenting heart, love, forgiveness, compassion, and genuine care, but I will become unrelentingly heartless if I'm pushed to that point, and that isn't a side of me you'd ever want to see.
6. I'm hard to fool because I smell lies from miles away, even white lies, even when you're fooling yourself. I just know, based on every other time I've smelled a lie.
7. I blame myself for things that go wrong even when I'm to blame. Furthermore, I'll defend the person/situation that is to blame.
8. My intuition is out of control and is a guiding light in my life. My first impressions are rarely wrong.
9. Betrayal by someone I don't know well barely touches me. Betrayal by someone I deeply care about is enough to shake and brake my foundations and I'll never, ever, forget it. However, I will forgive.
10. I'd brake worlds to help someone I care about most deeply.
11. If you've ever done the tiniest of things for me out of the kindness of your heart it is highly unlikely that I'll ever forget it.
12. I see right through you. Nice try hiding behind those walls. You might respond to that by saying, "You're probably wrong about me." Nope, I'm not. Proof is in the history of every single other time in the past I've seen someone for who they are. Remember what I said about my intuition?
13. I get along with so many people. I have a lot of social network friends and connections. That means nothing. Excluding my family I have less than 10 people who I consider close friends.
14. I like my laugh. It makes others smile and I don't care that its loud and obnoxious.
15. I'm very spiritual and God has a big place in my life.
16. I'm guarded, but wow am I ready, willing, and able to show what abundant love is. You'll be shook by the love I can share.
17. I'm always absorbing more information, learning and playing dumb. At the same time I'm making moves to be 3 steps ahead of you.
18. I'm never content with where I am; self-improvement is critical to me. As a result I'll always listen to the smartest people and I'll always be changing. You won't be able to keep up.
19. I'm able to deal with change much better than many of you. When I don't embrace change early or on time, it kicks me in the ass and it takes me a long time to recover.
20. I don't like to argue. I'll avoid it at most costs. This will give the impression that I don't stand up for myself. This is untrue, it is that whatever I'm letting go of isn't important enough to me to argue about. It wouldn't affect my walk in my life and I have enough confidence in myself to move past that without issue. However, watch out for when I do stand up for myself. I'll argue and I'll "win," as if there is such thing as winning an argument.
21. I've been reading your energy and body language since you walked in the door.
22. I'm borderline psychic. I sense things before they happen, way before anyone else has a hint of a clue, and they do happen.
23. I'm rooted in almost every moment; I know how I feel almost immediately. But occasionally I need to process for days, good luck finding me, and you should come looking for me, because I probably need you because I can't even figure out what's wrong.
24. I can empower you or I can crush you, and which one is up to you. Choose your own adventure!
25. I'm empathetic.
