The lost is now the found...

Matthew 10:39 'Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.' These words have been ringing in my mind and trampling my heart for the past few days. Jesus is telling His disciples right before He sends them out to minister to others this amazing truth. I love how the Message says this 'If your first concern is to look after yourself, you'll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you'll find both yourself and me.'

I can remember seeing horror movies and reading books where clones are being created at a rapid rate and everyone is scared because they don't understand what's going on. In a sense, God has called us to be clones of His son Jesus. The word Christian means little Christ. What would happen if people began living such radical lives for Christ that people looking in on us were scared because of what they saw? What if?

C.S. Lewis says it this way: God has landed on this enemy-occupied world in human form...The perfect surrender and humiliation was undergone by Christ: perfect because He was God, surrender and humiliation because He was man."

A little more of C.S: "[God] is not proud...He will have us even though we have shown that we prefer everything else to Him."

How true? Finding our true self is only in Christ. Without losing our lives we will never find them.

Please pray for me as I strive daily to lose my life so that I can find my life. I'm praying for you.

peace
