The bright cheery fruit picture on the bottle of barium?

IS A TOTAL LIE.

I had so much trouble getting that stuff down the tech let me skip the last dose, lest I vomit. Ugh ugh ugh.

Also, the appt was severely delayed, as an emergency CT case came in right before I was scheduled, and they only have one CT scanner at the hospital. I am SO glad we were able to get a friend last minute to watch the boys for us.

Worst part of the procedure was the IV, as usual. Better than it could have been. I do love lab techs who take my needle phobia seriously.

We stopped by Burger King on the way home, and I stole two of the boys' french fries to finish getting the barium aftertaste off my tongue and the back of my throat. Gah. Still on fluids, yogurt, and soups otherwise.

Wednesday I have an endoscopic exam of my upper GI tract - the gastroenterologist was able to squeeze me in this morning rather than wait til the 28th. He thinks my problem is likely twofold, partly inflammation of the lower esophagus and upper stomach, possibly with ulcers present, and partly something with my gallbladder. In his experience gallbladder pain can manifest on the center and left sides, not just the right, because the nerves are interconnected. (Note to Nagaina: He doesn't think it's divertculitis, but he did note my paternal grandfather's history of it.) Thursday I see my new PCM regarding my CT test results. Friday I have an ultrasound of my abdomen at a facility in the same hospital as the CT test.

Progress is being made, albeit slowly.

Boys are in bed. Tom's taking a shower, and then we're going to watch RideBack on Netflix, an anime we recently found. Then I am going the fuck to sleep.

health, stupid gastrointestinal tricks
