War and borders

I think *most* people have an ingrained ability to prevent war as a collective--it's the same ability that connects them to their family, to this moment, to their community, to their state, to their country, even to their self-fulfilling projected end goals.

A major disability that overshadows this ability is the disconnect between "us" and "them", between "self" and "other." I think there's a correlation between the "developed" nature of a country and the size of "us", the length/distance of the extension of the self. Today, the "borders" for developed countries are mostly on the inter-country and even the inter-continental level, whereas at the infancy of these countries the borders were at the inter/intra-community-level. I think the same can be said for the borders of war for these countries--feuding and battle happened locally, but then, as they developed, the borders eventually spread out, and "us" spread out (and not just in terms of the (political) economy).

Can we all become one?

I think technology intertwined with education will be an important force that helps us connect in ways that will further peace, extending the self, extending "us". I'm crossing my fingers, praying to lord Time, and doing what "I" can, along with "others", for "us".
