Classes here are all about the Italian language. We have two hours of class a day Monday through Thursday. Mondays and Wednesdays we have two hours of Italian 203, which is basically just grammar, taught by the big, jolly Ruggero, who I had for 101. It's one of my goals in life to go to Venice before it sinks. Let me know if it's worth it? Also, it's good to hear that you're getting some praise for your Italian skills. One of my friends was there a while ago and spoke Italian, to which he got the reply, "You know, we learn English for a reason." So it's good to know that you're doing well!

Hola.

Hey, for the second half of my senior seminar (the first was that Islam in the Balkans class), I have to write a 35-40 page paper. So, I thought it'd be interesting to write about different calcio supporters and how underlying tensions within such a 'mob-mentality' can show past socio-political divisions. Like those Lazio supporters I told you about, who are ultra-fascists, and that player Paolo Di Canio. So, if you see anything interesting in Italian about Lazio or Paolo Di Canio, like newspapers or magazines, let me know, yeah?

Cheers,
Kyle

hehe, Giussepe. what a name. Yep, getting complimented on your language abilities is one of the best feelings you can get. Also, after you've been there awhile, getting asked directions and then giving them is equally as exhilerating. Well done, you'll love Venice. And MAKE SURE you wander out of the tourist areas. Get lost, wander over bridges and canals, and you will find yourself in real Italy. One time we got lost and found ourselves in a little square with kids playing football and not a tourist in sight.
