So Tim "too liberal to be governor" Kaine won the election for governor in VA. Woot.
For everyone in Austin upset about Proposition 22 (anyone ever upset about same sex marriage bans in US states), I have 3 words for you: Remember the Prohibition. We the People overturned a Constitutional Amendment. So, all is not lost, the war is not over. I read somewhere sometime ago about how gay marriage soared to national recognition in really short amount of time. Faster than most people were prepared to deal with the issue. So, give it time. Let the closed minds open up slowly by watching lesbians on The OC and The Fab Five on Queer Eye. Push slow but steady (because a closed mind will stay that way if you go too fast and hard) and these laws will be overturned. You know all the ridiculous laws on record about not setting a cow on fire in the town square and such. One day these "marriage is only between one man and one woman" laws will be laughed about, too.
I am not surprised that it "won" Austin and lost in the state. Reminds me of the last presidential election. :P
