A review: 2Sweet Nail Spa

Oct 15, 2007 14:23

As I needed a manicure today, and it came highly recommended, I stopped in at 2Sweet Nail Spa this afternoon. Given that it was a Monday, the nail spa was completely dead. Which I kind of liked, considering the busy-ness of my brain. It's not a huge spa, there are only a handful of stations and 3 pedicure chairs. I also saw a massage chair leaned up against the back wall. The atmosphere is very nice, yet casual. The music, well, I hear opera while she was working on my nails and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" while they were drying, so, a nice variety. The nail spa is new, only about 3 months old at this point. My nail tech today was Lisa.

Overall, I was completely impressed. I am writing this recommendation in hopes that some of you locals will go and ensure that they are around for years to come. I am absolutely going back for whatever nail treatments I need in the future.

The basic manicure began with a paraffin treatment, which I found impressive as most nail places consider it an upgrade. With the hand massage, a warm towel was first wrapped around my hands, which felt fantastic and I've never had that done before. As the hand massage was very well done and when my cuticles were cut, Lisa did such a good job that none of my fingers bled, I tipped $7 on the manicure. Which was only $13 to begin with. I put a really high value on a good hand massage, no bleeding while cutting cuticles, plus, my company is paying for manicure.

In return, Lisa gave me a card. They of course have a savings card, after 10 services, you get $10 off your 11th.

Today's OPI: Polar Bare. In the salon lighting, it matches quite well with my skin tone. In sunlight, it just looks like a nude pink shade. :P

Best of all, after the manicure and setting me up at the drying station, Lisa did 2-3 minutes of massage on my shoulders. As my scalenes are preparing to leap out of my neck, that was just fantastic. Again, I've never had that happen before, a bit of shoulder massage. I am not sure if that is a standard thing or a combination of being the sole customer in the store and tipping well. Either way, it ensures that I'll be back.

I also have a handful of service menus - if you want one, either send me a snail address or lmk at which Starbucks I should meet you.

2Sweet is located on Gallows Rd, near Electric. It's in the row of shops between the 7-11 and the white-and-glass office buildings. It's about 2 miles from Tyson's Corner Centre.
