P&G friends

Apr 03, 2010 03:31

I never fail to smile whenever I think of how happy and grateful I am for my friends in P&G. If there's something making my stay worthwhile, it would be these people. Sure, I never really had the job I wanted. Sure, I've always been unlucky with managers. But hey, I can still say that I'm thankful for everything because of the relationships I have established.

Anj and I often times laugh whenever we recall the days that we still weren't close to these people. We would just talk (not backstab ah :p) about them during our coffee sessions. We would just point at them whenever they are passing us by. You see, during more than a year of my stay in P&G, I could count with my fingers the number of times I went out with colleagues (aside from Anj). It would just be some lunch with Shoes and Adette. Some chikahan moments with Jen and Caloy. Or at rare times, with Randy and Ralph. But aside from them, I have never really been close to any other P&G employee until this year.

Since I never really liked my job, I have always made it a point to not go out or not really have close friends in the office. Haha. This is to make a clear distinction between work and having fun. Plus, I never wanted to get attached. So most of my night outs would be with college friends, mubidates with teh Psychos (@omgaeveryone haha), coffee with Darz, Kevin, Katrina, and Evan, or other friends.

Well, that was before.

Now, let me introduce you to the people I spend most of my time with in (and outside) the office the past weeks.

ANJ

If I would have a "best friend" (sorry, I really don't like using this term, thus the quotation marks) in the office, it would be Anj. We are almost inseparable that people even tease us as a lesbian couple. Haha. Anj and I met when we were having our medical exam for P&G. We then signed our forms together. She's actually from Pisay, too. Batch 2001. I can talk to Anj about anything and everything, same wavelength. Haha. It's also notable that we're leaving the company at the same time. But I know we'd still manage to spend time together even after P&G. :)

JEK

Aha. The only one in this group who is also in LJ. Haha. It's funny that Jek and I were team mates in our row's teambuilding last year. We were not close back then. I doubt that we even care bout the other's existence. Haha. I dunno how this closeness with Jek started... But how or why or when it started, it really doesn't matter anymore. I love the things we love in common (love for books, movies, food, art, musical instruments, etc). One of the most sentimental (and romantic) guys I know. A great listener and a great companion. He's also always game to try on new things and new places! And even though Jek is already transferring to a new row, this doesn't matter. As RJ would say, rows are just labels. No need for them! Haha.

RJ

Ok, I won't make this long anymore coz I was just talking to this guy while ago regarding the things I am writing in this entry. Haha. Despite RJ being moody, irritable, and scary at times, we still love him. Hahahaha. Why? He's a gentleman, very generous, and fun to be with. I share with him the same sentiments - that the relationships we've built are enough for us to just put behind a not-so-good job experience. Hehe. RJ has both immaturity and maturity, seriousness and kalabuan. Sometimes you just don't know which you'd get, but you'd still love him nonetheless. Hehe. Papa J!!!

APRIL

Ahhh, the TL I never had. April might be ahead of us in terms of years and experience (hehehehe), but she knows how to level with us. I love how she can listen to us as a friend, and yet give advice professionally. I got to know April through our common friend, Jen. (awww now I miss Jen since I don't get to talk to her that much anymore :() But I only got really really close to her recently. I love talking to April about stuff - we can be serious and yet have some good laughs about any topic. And April is one truly dependable friend. She's a treasure. <3

This entry seems like a bunch of testimonials (HAHAH FRIENDSTER DAYS HAHAHA). But seriously, I love these people. I love spending Thursday nights with them. I love eating out with them. I love having random y!m/twitter conferences with them. I love just knowing I have them in my life. :)

Though we know we can try our best to keep in touch with each other (especially after Anj and I have resigned), I know it would be hard. So for now, I am writing this so that when I look back, I can look back with a smile and be thankful for all the memories and times I've spent with these people.
