My fans have summoned me so I guess that I should tell everyone that I have been back for a few days and that I had a super awesome time in Thailand. I'm tanned and a tiny bit slimmed down from when I left. I'm rested and calm and freezing my ass off because Yuzawa is not the tropical paradise I have been used to. I have not been attacked by large waves, bird flu or terrorists. I'm back into the swing of things here except for the cold. Also something pretty cool happened to me yesterday.
In my sleepy little city anyone smart enough to learn English and old enough to leave high school has left for university or a city big enough to have a dance club or movie theater. Instead of a standard bell curve shifted one way or the other like a normal population, a graph of the ages in this town are like to hills with a vally where the 18-30 demo should be. While I have been known to appreciate more experienced women on occasion, I was worried that it was becoming more than a lovely option but becoming a limitation. I was beginning to wonder if I still held appeal for my contemporaries (and posttemperaries).
Well I got a bit of a boost when a lovely woman who I later found out was just my age came jogging after me in the street. She ask me if I knew English because she had an interview for a Job that required English the next day and wanted to practice. I had some time to chat and I made a cute new friend. With a little of my help she aced the interview and got the job. YOSH! (That is Japanese for "boyah".)
