By: Alzilur

Beta: Saraste

Fandom: Inuyasha

Pairings: Kouga/Miroku

Summary: Miroku’s hope for Sango to be his wife didn’t happen, now, she’s marrying someone else and she wants him to come.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Inuyasha or its characters no matter how much I wants them and I made no profits from this story except for the enjoyment of sharing them.

An: A night in Sesshomaru’s den.

Sesshomaru’s POV

“You will go to her wedding with the person I choose, I am not going to tell you who it is yet, because you would try to find some obscure excuse to refuse if I did.” Sesshomaru paused to glare at Miroku when the monk moved as if to speak.

Once the former monk had settled down to sulk quietly, he continued to speak while pacing the room.

Inuyasha was looking at Miroku’s bowed dark head intently but his white ear twitched minutely, showing that he was listening to Sesshomaru. But his red clad shoulders were stiff with apprehension, showing how much he didn’t like this plan of Sesshomaru.

The daiyoukai smirked.

Inuyasha getting angry and defensive was one of his plans.

“Stop!” He stopped, turning slowly to watch his half brother coolly.

Inuyasha nearly quelled under his icy stare but one glance towards Miroku gave the hanyou the courage he needed to defy him. Sesshomaru swallowed the smile blossoming on his lips as he continually stared down at the fidgeting hanyou.

“Why am I stopping Inuyasha?” He addressed Inuyasha with his rumbling purr mixed with a shard edge born to intimidate and strike fear to those who opposed him.

“Er…I don’t think Miroku should go with this person you choose.”

Miroku’s head snapped towards Inuyasha with his mouth open in shock.

“I didn’t hear him objecting.”

“Well...er…I know him and he doesn’t want to go.”

“Do you Inuyasha? What about his thoughts?”

“I…I…I’m sorry Inuyasha, but I need to go.”

“So you agree with my plan?”

“Yes.”

“What the hell!” Inuyasha burst out.

“I know you don’t want to go so why the hell did you agree for?” Inuyasha rounded on the sitting human.

“Inuyasha…” Miroku sighed heavily; he averted his eyes away from the hanyou lest his friend would see the tears gathering at the corners of his eyes.

He seemed to forget that his friend is a hanyou with a hypersensitive nose and could detect the salt in the air effortlessly.

“I must go…” …the taunts from Sango’s slayers friends were humming inside his head.

He will prove to them that he was not hanging on Sango’s affection anymore, show them and her that he could survive without her.

Proving to himself that he could live without her.

Inuyasha’s eyes shuttered closed. He dropped down beside his friend and gave the human a nudge with his shoulder.

“I’ll go with you.”

Miroku smiled gratefully; at least he won’t be alone with strangers. Even Sango is a stranger to him now. Sadden by the sudden melancholic thoughts he turned silent and withdrawn as Inuyasha tried to subtly fret over him.

Unseen by the two friends Sesshomaru stood with a smile, a full fledged smile which would scare the life out off somebody is they saw it. It was full of mischief.

The plan was working beatifically. Inuyasha’s presence would force Miroku’s supposed lover to admit his hidden feelings.

I left them in my room; they were still stalking quietly to each other so they didn’t even notice me moving out of the room.

I went to the garden where Rin was.

She was immersed in her flowers but I know she had sensed me the moment I stepped my foot inside her garden, she’s special like that.

I never told her how much I appreciate her, how much I love my human daughter that had melted my frozen heart so effortlessly.

I sit on one of the benches littering the garden, still in view of her but not intruding.

The cool night air was filled with the aroma of various fragrant flowers Rin planted; she has loved flowers since she was just a little girl until now. My Rin had grown into a lovely young woman; soon, she will marry and leave me.

“Can I go too Sesshomaru-sama?”

“With Inuyasha and Miroku?”

She nodded her head enthusiastically.

To the slayers village where there will be a lot of young human males, one of them might capture Rin’s attention and then her heart.

I felt a strange sensation building in my chest, it became a lump in my throat, I remembered Miroku describing it as panicking but I never would have guessed that I’d feel it.

I felt the urge to deny her but then I looked into her big brown eyes and knew then that I would never stop her from her fate. I would want her to be happy.

“Yes you may, you can help me look after those two.” I turned my head away from her.

“I know.” She chuckled.

I didn’t even have to tell her which ‘two’ she was supposed to watch over.

My daughter is a very bright girl.

If only she could mate with a youkai, then she’d live longer but that was just my selfishness talking. What are the chances that she will fall in love with a youkai and what are the chances that another full blooded youkai would mate a human girl? If there is one…I fear for the youkai’s motives for mating her. Youkais were not known to fall in love; our family is the only youkai one that has time and time again chose a human as mate.

It makes me wonder if I will follow my father’s and Inuyasha’s path of choosing a human mate.

Tbc…

S: Oh, this was very nice! ^^

A: Thanks…now look what I’ve done…where will I find Sesshy’s human mate now? Review please…it’ll make me feel fuzzier!
