Last night was crazy and wonderful in too many ways! The highlights:
1. Driving around the Creswell/Goshen area searching for Adrian's party at the whim of a really mischievious set of Yahoo map directions. As we took a series of wrong turns and slowly got ourselves pointed in the right direction, I saw a manic looking road-rager brandish a handgun in the rearview mirror (which destroyed my faith in the benevolence of Creswell), and also a limping peacock next to an empty school parking lot littered with fruit loops (which immediately restored it).
2. Realizing that Amy's graduation party actually combined the forces of friends and family into one joyously drunken celebration. There were two kegs, five cousins, one aunt, many foosball games, and so much laughter that found myself wondering if giggling isn't somehow a part of my family's culture.
3. Showing up to Alex's party well after midnight and finding that he had sealed himself in his bedroom with a small group of people. When I asked him why he had chosen social segregation, he mournfully replied that a group of strange hippies had invaded his living room. And they had!
Long story short: By far one of the best nights of the year, thanks to amazing friends, family, and an abundance of beer. Too many highlights to be recounted in a reasonably-sized livejournal entry. I'm now sitting in my room, covered in cockatiels and cockatiel droppings, wondering what to do with my freshly graduated self. "Nothing to do and nowhere to go" is still fresh enough that I can savor it guilt-free. :)
Namaste,
Jacki
