Megami Kouhosei Curriculum 07: Ground Battle Picsummary
Before I begin tonight's picsummary, I'd like to mention that I filled in the rest of the answers from that tricky fandom meme I did last week. So, if anyone wants to check out the answers, they're written in. Now then, tonight's episode is marked with confrontations of all sorts. Pro-Ing exercises, Victim battles, friendships wrought with conflict, and conspiracies.
We start off tonight's episode with a shot of the opposing teams on the battlefield.
Clay, of course, is really nervous about what's about to go down.
Aracd tells him to relax and be careful, because Erts is going to read his every move.
Sure enough, Erts is reading the situation. (Cheater! XD)
He then informs Zero that Aracd is going to be attacking him (Zero).
Bring it on!
After confirming with the other repairers that preparations have been completed, Azuma gives them the okay to begin.
Aracd: You're mine, 88!
So fast!
Back on the real battlefield, Garu is in some serious trouble.
GARU!!!
Suddenly, Teela appears just in time to save Garu!
F-First!
Even though Teela did save Garu, Eeva-Leena lost one of her hands.
Teela: Hurry and transfer!
(In other words, get Leena to send out another gun.)
Me: Hey, Yu! Haven't seen you for a while!
Yu: Setting a trap? -brandishes sword-
Garu realizes that the only two choices for him left are do or die.
LEENA! SEND OUT THE ALTAGE!
Due to Garu's current state, Teela gives him a boost with her EX.
Arrive! Please, arrive! I beg you!
COME!
Transfer successful.
(You're damn lucky that it did, Garu!)
Deploying sheilds to sectors one through five, except for Zion!
Victim is within firing range! Proceed with the attack!
(This is one of my favorite shots of him! So cool~!)
Rio: Victim has been captured! It's up to you to finish it, First!
MEGAMI NO SABAKI!
Back with the candidates, Zero and Aracd are engaged in a contest of strength!
Aracd: This guy is amazingly tough! Kyoko!
Kyoko: 88's weight is being concentrated into his left foot. He'll fall over, if you push him away.
Aracd: Okay!
LET'S GIVE IT A TRY!
Zero falls away...
...but...
...Erts comes in for the save!
Erts: Better get a feel for this, quickly.
Zero: Don't worry! Leave it to me!
Meanwhile, Kizna realizes that Zero's reflexes are too fast for the Pro-Ing. So, she decides to adjust them.
Except, Azuma rejects that idea.
Don't adjust the Pro-Ing to the pilot. Make the pilot adjust to the Pro-Ing.
Damn! It's so slow!
Azuma: He has to learn to move that machine like it's his own hands and feet, after all.
Bear with it, Zero! Keep at it!
However, a moment later, Aracd notices that Zero's movements were, steadily, getting faster.
...
Well, it didn't take much time for him to adjust to the Pro-Ing, now did it?
As Zero and Aracd duke it out, Clay slips into his "Commentator Clay" mode!
Clay: Wow! The excitement! The grudgematch between Zero and Aracd; WHAT PASSION!
IT'S A HOT, HEATED BATTLE!!!
(ATSUI ATSUI TATAKAI DE ARIMASU!!!)
Clay: However, I feel like I'm being left behind, in this battle, somehow.
Saki: (Moron!)
Azuma: Stop stalling 89! Shut your mouth, and engage in the exercise!
Clay: Yeah...but sometimes, running away is also a strategy used in battle. -tiptoes away from the carnage-
Me: Oh, God! I love that kid! XD
Saki: HOW UNCOOL!
Azuma: Hey, you! That's an-
Before Azuma can continue scolding Clay, he gets paged.
Whatever is going on, it must be really important.
Continue on with the training. I'll be back, soon.
Uh, Instructor? Weren't you going to tell me something?
?!
Clay: KYAAAAAAAH~!!!
It's okay. You can attack me.
Despite Erts giving him an invitation to attack him, Clay's still paralyzed in fear. XD
CONSPIRACY TIME, AGAIN!
The headmaster asks Azuma if there's anyone in his class that has the potential to become a pilot.
Well, it's still too early to tell. However, there is one. He distinctly reminds me of myself, when I was training to become a pilot.
(You heard it here, people! Azuma used to be a Goddess Pilot! I don't think it's mentioned in the anime, but Rill was his repairer, as well.)
Speaking of that kid, he just landed another hit on Aracd.
Azuma: There's no doubt about it. This guy is definitely going to become a pilot!
Azuma: Yep! And I'm going to be the one to help turn him into a pilot! That's what GOA exists for, right?
Me: AZUMA, YOU ROCK~!!!
There is a brief pause, and the headmaster speaks up again.
Headmaster: Word came from above that we should evaluate all candidates, immediately.
Azuma: Then...
...
Headmaster: There might be an opening amongst the Goddess Pilots, soon.
(In other words, somehow, Garu's about to get axed.)
We then turn our attention to GIS. The Narrator Lady tells us how GIS functions as the hanger for the Ingrids, as well as the home for the pilots and their repairers...and...
Teela is standing in front of Eeva-Leena, as if she wants to say something to her.
Teela:...Elia...
Yep! The ghost girls inside of the Ingrids all have names. Elia, e-a (Don't quote me on this one, but that's what it looked like on Kallisto's data file!), Silfee, and Heltage.
Suddenly, we hear the sound of Garu getting punched. He's sent flying back into the wall, and ends up on the ground.
Leena runs over to his aid. As for the one that threw the punch...
WOAH!
I'm not going to lie; I was stunned, the first time I saw this scene. I'd even go so far to say that I was scared. True, Ernest had every reason to do it; but still, I was shocked.
Ernest: Why did you do such a foolish thing, Garu?
Ernest: At that moment, if First had been even a second late...
...YOU COULD HAVE DIED!
Leena: ?! Ernest...
Ernest: Garu, during the battle, I could feel your impatience and anxiety to the point of pain. I understand your feelings...but, the way you fight is too dangerous.
The way you fight now, it's just like...like...
Me: (Please, don't...if you cry, then I will, as well.)
With that, Ernest, silently, storms off.
Me: Ernest-sama...T_T
Leena: Ernest...
Garu: I know what he's talking about.
Garu: He already figured that matter out.
Garu: For the first time, her voice stopped.
Garu recalls Elia's silent scream.
(I don't even have the guts to joke about it. I just can't.)
Garu picks himself up off of the floor.
But, it's no good.
Leena: Garu!
Garu: Dammit!...Dammit!
The shaking won't stop. What the hell is happening to me?
...Dammit! Dammit!
...Gareas...
Teela: I feel sorry for you. You were scared. Right, Elia?
It will be fine. I will give you protection, even now, Elia. Now, and into the future.
...Way into the future.
A little while later, we find Ernest gazing at the stars.
Oh, God! I wish I could comfort him. T_T
Suddenly, he hears footsteps coming towards him.
Ernest: Tune? What's wrong, Tune?
Tune: Um...is it okay if I say something?
Ernest: Yes.
Tune: I don't think I have a right to say this, but...
...
Tune: Right now, Gareas-san needs someone to stop him. I believe he cannot even stop himself.
Ernest: (Oh. That.)
Ernest: I know.
Tune: Ah! I'm sorry. I was being intrusive, wasn't I?
Ernest: No. That's not like you.
Me: You two are killing me, right now! T.T
Just then, Tune notices her partner's hand is bruised.
T_T
Tune: Your hand is injured.
Ernest: Yes. This is-
Ernest: ...
Tune: Ernest-san, you are not doing anything wrong.
Tune: It is because the one who is most concerned about Gareas-san, is you.
Ernest:...Tune...
(At this point, I was still in denial. I had heard something about Ernest being in love with Garu, but I still didn't believe it; even if the truth was right in front of me the whole time. It was mainly because I didn't like Garu, but, shortly after, I concluded that, "If Ernest is happy, then I'm happy.". If he loved Garu, then there's nothing I could do about it.)
Anyhow, turning away from the heartbreaking angst, we go back to GOA and see Kizna yelling at Zero for locking arms with Aracd again.
Aracd: Dude, you're not my only opponent, you know! (If I get beaten by this rookie, then I'm gonna lose my fans!)
Up on a cliff, Erts is still trying to coax Clay to attack him.
Suddenly, Clay is overcome by the staredown with Erts...
...and, promptly, loses his footing. XD
HUH?
The repairers warn their partners of the on-coming falling object above them.
ROFL
THUNK!
CLAY!
What happened? Self-destructed?
(Oh, Zero! XD)
Aracd takes advantage of the Clay-caused confusion, and lands a hit on Zero.
Kizna: What are you doing?! Get in there, and fight him!
Welcome back, Azuma! How was the conspiracy meeting?
That bad, huh? Must feel really good to know that the higher-ups are plotting to get rid of Garu, doesn't it? -tenses up in bitterness-
ARACD USED MEGA PUNCH!
IT'S SUPER-EFFECTIVE!
(He punched Zero out of the field!)
Kyoko: Well done.
My~! That's a lovely position to be falling in, Zero!
And it looks like this game is over!
Kyoko: Huh?
Me: Over for them, or over for you?
Kyoko: Aracd, behind you!
OOH! ERTS DID HIM FROM BEHIND! XD
Rome: Aracd is unable to battle. The victory goes to Erts.
He's probably used to this, by now. I bet being the top can get boring, after a while.
Kyoko: Tch! What a cheap shot!
Rome: (Too bad.)
Since Zero was knocked out of the "ring", Azuma decides it's time to call the match.
Kizna: NO! NOT YET!
Kizna works on boosting Zero's engine, so he could fly back.
Kizna: Zero, listen. There is no up or down, in space. Just focus on flying out of there.
Kizna: ZERO!
Zero:...Kizna?
Suddenly, he sees something. (Yep! It's time for another one of his weird visions.)
Zero:...Kizna?
Zero: KIZNA!!!
Zero:...
Kizna: Zero!
Kizna: I'm fine! Hurry up and fly out of there! I won't forgive you for losing, this way!
Azuma: Rome, go ahead and terminate the scanner.
Rome: But, sir-
I said, terminate it!
Reluctantly, Rome begins to terminate the scanner.
Back with our favorite epic failure...
RIGHT ON TIME, CLAY!
Saki: Clay's having an EX reaction!
Say what?
Saki: His memorization ability is steadily increasing. What's with these irregular readings?
Clay Cliff Fortran's EX: The Knowledge! His brain is like a super-computer!
(Glasses Ritual Counter: 9)
I'm counting it! It's not with one finger, but it's badass enough to be counted!
Here's your chance, Zero!
Kizna: Zero...
...FLY!!!
Zero regains his senses, and proceeds back to the battlefield.
Aww~!
Kyoko:...Uso da!
While everyone else is either concerned about Clay or awed by Zero, Rome notices something.
She terminated the scanner, but someone else stopped her.
Who was it, you ask?

AZUMA, YOU-!!!

Zero: #88 is reporting back to the battlefield!
Kizna: YAY~!
After a moment, Clay snaps out of his daze.
Clay: Huh? What was I looking at, just now.
Clay: Hmm~! This is very interesting.
(Glasses Ritual Counter: 10)
Saki: Clay! Clay, do you read me?!
Some time later, Zero and Kizna have another chat outside.
Kizna: Hey, Zero! Is it true that you saw me?
Zero: Huh? Yeah. I did.
Zero: (So that really was Kizna. But how did she know about that?)
Kizna: Hey, Zero!
Zero: What?
Kizna: I gotta tell ya! I didn't want to be a repairer! I wanted to be a pilot!
Zero: You? A pilot?
Kizna: Yeah, but it was impossible. My body isn't cut out for battle. I don't have any EX, which is impossible for a woman.
Kizna: If you think about it, the top pilot, Teela, is a very exceptional person. She's a woman pilot, but she's also the top.
Zero:...Teela...
Kizna: Huh?
Zero: So, the girl who pilots the white vessel is named Teela.
Kizna: That's right? -_-'
Zero: Yes. It is Teela.
Kizna starts tugging on Zero's line, to get him to stop spacing out.
Kizna: And because I can't do it, my dream was transferred to you!
Zero: Oh! I get it! That vision I saw, represented Kizna's broken dreams!
Kizna: >.<
Zero: Hey! Stop swinging me around, like that! I'm gonna get sick again!
Kizna: THAT'S WHAT YOU GET! DX
Back on GIS, we get a haunting scene involving two star-gazers.
The seraphim, who wishes to kiss the starlight...
...and the goddess, who watches over the last planet.
I can just see the conflict in his eyes. Those sad, soul-piercing eyes.
Teela: Planet...The last remaining planet...
Teela:...and the mechanisms that keep growing. Even though I've changed so much, will you still be able to recognize me?
Teela:...Rei...
