A Possible Bite
I spent a little while calling up the libraries that I recently applied to, today. I got two form answers (AKA: "Your application must go through HR, first."), and one big possibility. The manager from the library with the most recent ad said that he's planning on going through applications next week. Of course, there's tons of them, but I'm hoping that mine will be amongst them. Even if I only last through the interview phase, I'd be happy. So, I'm already working on practicing, in case I get called up.
I know that I'm not a certified librarian, and I haven't even volunteered at my library for a full year yet. However, I do think I have enough experience and know-how to get by. And whatever I haven't learned yet, I'm more than willing to learn. True, it would mean that I would have to give up my volunteer position, since this job is full time, but it's a small price to pay. I would miss it, but I do plan on going back there, someday. Working at my library is my ultimate goal, after all.
However, I haven't even secured an interview yet. So, I don't want to get too ahead of myself. I certainly hope things turn out in my favor, though. Then, I won't have to worry too much about what would happen, after if or when I lose my current job. Still, I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
