Gundam AGE 21

This was quite an enjoyable "calm before the storm" episode. I have to say, though, I got a lot of amusement over both the premise giving me flashbacks to another mecha series, and some seiyuu lulz.

Alrighty, for the first half, we have Asemu (I saw it spelled that way, on one of the monitors. So, I'll be spelling it that way, from now on.) training in an advanced pilot training program. I know the set-up is nothing new, but I felt like I was watching Megami Kouhosei, rather than Gundam AGE. XD We have the underdog protag, the glasses guy who sucks at everything combat-related, the awesome old-school Instructor, Miki Nagasawa as a female engineer (sans cat ears), and a simulator. And watching it with xx_adverb_xx wasn't helping matters either, as he and I met through that series, long ago.

We find out that meganekko with Dique in the OP isn't his wife, but it looks like she'll be someone's wife, someday~. Obright's sudden crush on Remi, slightly reminded me of Andrei's on Louise. I was fully expecting him to say, "Otome da.", at one point. XD

Asemu just can't catch a break. He's got an inferiority complex. Everyone thinks that he gets special treatment, for being Flit's son. His best friend turns out to be a Vagan and betrays him. And now, he gets NTR'd by Romary. Seeing how Flit and Emily ended up together, I'm guessing we'll be getting the reverse of that here. :\

Woolf, as always, is a total freaking bro. After Asemu finds out that he's a last-rank X-Rounder candidate, he takes Asemu to the Madorna Workshop. There, we get reacquainted with Madorna and Lalaparly, and we meet their son, Rody. I loved watching Asemu and Rody bonding; with both of them wanting to do their best, to follow in their fathers' footsteps. That, and Rody's just cute.

After Asemu and Rody chat, Woolf has Asemu try out the Madorna's new simulator. I freaking loved watching Woolf trying to help Asemu work through his problems, with this method. He wants to get stronger, but he doesn't want anyone holding his hand the entire time, either. I respect that. Woolf's words about finding strength, really hit a chord with me, too. I think I needed to hear those words, just as much as Asemu did.

And now, I just need to get some seiyuu-related dorkery out. I got a real kick out of learning that Rody's voiced by Masakazu Morita, especially when we already have Kouji Yusa voicing Obright. So, now, I kinda want some fanart of Pilot Yuri and Mechanic Bunny. And, I also recently found out that blue-haired dude that follows Zeheart around, is voiced by Taketora; AKA: Zarlish Tytania...Which, I'm suddenly reminded that Kamiyan was Louis Edmond Pages, one of Fan's friends. A Tytania Duke bowing his head to a space fugitive? What insanity is this?!

dorkery, randomness, all hail tytania, gundam age, tiger & bunny, gundam 00, megami kouhosei, fangirling
