Harry,

May I call you Harry? Potter sounds like the past, and I’d like to let go of a lot of that.

I’m writing because we’ve never been very successful at talking, have we?

Rivals. That‘s what we were for so long that I can hardly believe we aren’t anymore. What should I call you then? Saviour is a bit over the top, even if you did save my life. Okay, okay ... twice. Thanks for that, by the way.

I wanted to call you friend years ago, but … never mind. I suppose acquaintance will have to do.

Draco.

Draco,

Yes, call me Harry. It’s my name, after all. I already started thinking of you as Draco since that night on the Astronomy Tower.

No, I’m not throwing that in your face. I wanted to tell you that I was there - under my invisibility cloak. I heard everything, saw everything.

You made some bad decisions, but they’re in the past. I agree that we should leave a lot of it behind. I fear that we might all go mad if we don’t.

What should you call us? I think we might be able to be friends someday.

Harry.
