That was great - the last two 'friends' I would have expected were those two, and I guess some would argue they aren't really friends, but they still have had an impact on Harry's life. Very interesting series so far (and I friended you after reading this if you're wondering...)
I see your point. The "friends" were the ones Harry was remembering (the reason he 'discarded' Malfoy from his thoughts earlier). The entrance of Snape & Malfoy at the end was an interruption to his musings ... and leads into the next story in the series.
Thanks for the compliment. I have a number of plot bunnies bouncing around on this one, and am trying to get them to flow somewhat logically, even if the characters & stories (on the most part) are independent from one another.
It's a bit of a different approach for me to separate characters from plot/action, so I'm glad you're enjoying it so far.
I wouldn't put Draco and Severus on Harry's list of friends really...but he's thinking of people who obviously helped him a lot, since he's not like "OMG DIE!!!" like he would be otherwise. Nicely done!
No, Draco and Severus are definitely not on his list of friends (the reason he banished Draco from his thoughts, as he drifted in). They just interrupted his thoughts at the end.
