Telling the Weasel

Mayhem broke out as someone yelled, "Aurors!" A vision of knuckles zooming towards his face was the last thing Draco saw before his world went black.

"Malfoy!" Draco's head throbbed as he attempted the impossible - to sit upright. He let out a groan which only served to increase the throbbing.

"Harry!" the same, familiar voice bellowed. Ah. So it was the weasel. Oh joy. And Potter. Even better. Draco had been working undercover for the Aurors, so he figured it made sense they'd be here. But did Weaselby have to be so loud?

Shhh, Draco silently pleaded as the weasel mumbled something else to Potter.

In a flurry, Potter was at Draco's bedside, looking frantic. "Draco. What happened? Are you all right? Do you need me to call a Healer?"

Draco blinked and forced his eyes open. The weasel was gaping at Potter. Draco rolled his eyes. Potter grabbed Draco's hands and squeezed. Then he looked into Draco's eyes. "I would never have forgiven myself --"

"Shut up, Potter." Draco shot Potter a warning look, and motioned towards Weasley.

"Are you okay?" Potter asked, not hiding his concern.

"Sure," Draco replied. "Fine."

"Good," Potter said. Then he took Draco's face in his hands and kissed him. In front of the weasel.

"I'll … I'll just be going then," the weasel stammered.

Draco watched him leave, then started to laugh. "That's one hell of a way to tell him, Potter!"

"As good as any," Potter said with a shrug and a smile. Then he kissed Draco again.
