Harry found himself surprised at his current situation. He was sitting with Draco Malfoy - not that unusual an occurrence in and of itself these days, since Draco was his fellow Auror and partner - in a small town in South India, watching a manifestation of Lord Shiva's dance of Destruction and Creation.
They'd wrapped up their case earlier that evening, but rather than return to the Ministry, Draco had suggested that they stay on for the night, and take in a bit of the local culture, something they rarely had time to do. He'd pointed out, quite rightly, that no one was going to look at any report they filed that night anyway, and that they deserved a night off after the ten straight days of round-the-clock investigation they'd been conducting on this case.
Draco had explained that it was a classic good versus evil tale, told through dance, an intrinsic part of Indian culture, akin to meditation. He'd become quite animated retelling one of the tales of sages attacking Lord Shiva several times, one time with a snake, or something like that. Not that Harry remembered all the details, or even got what Draco had been talking about entirely, but his partner's enthusiasm had intrigued him enough that he found himself agreeing to remain another night. And now that they were there, Harry was enjoying the evening immensely.
As he watched his partner's eyes twinkling with unrepressed joy, Harry suspected that his own enjoyment had very little to do with the Cosmic Dancer in front of them.
