Deep Blue Sea
Searching for a cure to Alzheimer's disease a group of scientists on an isolated research facility become the bait as a trio of intelligent sharks fight back. (IMDB Summary.)
Also known as 'the one where Samuel L. Jackson gets eaten by a shark'.
A group of scientists are experimenting with enhacing shark brains at a research lab set on an abandoned WWII submarine pen in the middle ofo the ocean. Those of you who aren't in the movie, didn't write it, and didn't greenlight it will recognize a couple of problems with this right off the bat:
- You're going to make super intelligent sharks. Really, someone, at some point, even in-universe, should have at least floated this idea as a joke.
- Submarine pens are designed to let submarines in, yes. They are also designed to let them out.
- Those superintelligent sharks you're making are going to figure this out, and unquestionably faster than you will.
No points for guessing how the movie starts, or ends.
My considered opinion of this movie is that I'm on the shark's side.
